I wasn't all that hot on him before the tragedy - do you guys think he can have a positive impact when he returns? I do like the fact that he is a big body that can move a bit.

He was playing really well that last year. He is (was) very strong and one of very few guys that you'll ever see pushing a double-team back into the QB with pure power. A lot of DTs can hold up to the double-team, but very few can push them backwards.

Did anyone see anything out of Lawrence this game?

His snaps appeared to be very limited. He had a nice pressure and near-sack rushing from the LDE position.

The issue with Brent is how he fits in 46 man game-day roster. They normally have 4 DTs active. I'm fairly certain that Marinelli really likes having 3 of them be pass rushing type DTs with only 1 pure 1-tech. Hayden has been the 1-tech with T. McClain being the guy that can play the 1-tech or 3-tech spot. Josh Brent is a 1-tech only, but I don't see Marinelli wanting to have Hayden inactive.

If Brent were here at the beginning of training camp, I think he could beat out Hayden; however, at this point Marinelli seems attached to Hayden. If T. Crawford's injury is bad, then I guess it won't be an issue; although, if they wanted another 3-tech they could activate Okoye or have Coleman active on game-days.
