Yea, 1.49 / 1.57 may not seem like a big difference but pretty massive in how fast a player gets up to speed.

That’s why Downs tape is littered with chunk plays and Beas hardly ever had any.

Beas is actually a pretty bad comp.
Its just people looking at size and surface measurables and think they are similar

See a similar height, weight with the same # running many underneath routes. Clearly he is the more talented player as Beasley wasn't even drafted.

I see my boy Darnell Washington is coming in for a 30 day visit. Someone really good is going to be there at 58.
That's what usually happens, some players go higher then expected, which allows some players to fall through the cracks.

How deep is the draft. Can we get Bland, Clark or the defensive tackle we cut that Washington picked up after round 4?

There is running similar routes and there is being similar players. I dont see them as similar players. Downs adds dimensions Beasley doesnt as will have to be defended differently. Someone had to really blow something for Beasley to get any RAC

Tavon Austin at WVU seemed like similar highlights as far as running after the catch with all of his chunk plays. Austin was a little faster and obviously his skill set didn't transfer well to the NFL. Downs appears to be a better route runner than Austin was when he was drafted.

Generally speaking I dont like small players. I really dont like drafting them early. 3rd round or later for me.

Our new OC, Schott, went to see him personally at his pro day. Read that he has surprisingly no visits lined up to meet with teams. It was reported he was a national 30 visitor by us.

When I watch him, he reminds me of a younger version of Cole Beasley. Zay Flowers is more the down the field threat, where Downs excels with the underneath passes. He is a mismatch in man coverage due to his quickness.

Think there is an excellent chance he makes it to 58 and would add a new dimension to our passing attack.
I also like Downs...great route runner.

I still.cant see why not many teams are looking at my boy Jalen Cropper though.
