Hey, I thought Trevor Lawrence was the "generational QB?" By definition, we can only have one of those every twenty years or so. So, if Daniels is now it, TL's title will have to be stripped. ;-)

I did not perceive Lewis' comment to be at all uncomplimentary with respect to Dan Quinn. Quite the opposite, in fact.

Only "loser" franchises care about a top-5 pick to draft a QB. Teams with a winning culture like ours understand how important it is to win meaningless games in December in order to screw up your draft position.

Complimentary football requires that the defense makes stops. But it also means the offense can mail it in for an entire half of the game.

But, the Lions turned the ball over multiple times. So that kind of sealed their fate.

The new GM got Quinn in FA 6 defensive starters 2 on the line ( Fowler & Armstrong ) 2 LB one of them Wagner and 2 in the secondary. Plus Daniels of course . Things fell into place nicely .

All of which is something Jerry wouldn't do, which I believe is the point JL was making. If not, it should have been.
