When are they going to realize that Julius Jones is not the answer? Not that Marion Barber had a great night, but why do they keep playing Jones? I must be missing something because it looks to me like handing him the ball is just a mistake.

JJ ran hard, the Bills blew up the OL in the 1st half. I was actually hoping to see him in the 4th more...was looking for his speed in the open field on some of the dump offs.

Our running game hasn't been as good as the numbers suggest. We've only ran well with big leads, when the defenses were taking chances or playing for turnovers. I don't know how people got it in their head that our line is dominating.

The pass blocking has been passable, but run blocking has been below average all season.

When are some people going to realize that it doesn't matter WHO is running the ball when the o-line is going BACKWARDS on running plays?

The ONLY time that we have been able to run the ball is in the 2nd half and that only happens when we have a huge TOP lead on the defense....we didn't have that tonight.

The o-line was still going backwards in the 4th qtr. on running plays. Don't blame EITHER RB for the lack of a running game this year....it's on the o-line. They wear teams down with pass blocking and that is it.

I agree on the dump offs but I didn't think JJ was so bad tonight. He and Marion work well as a change up running attack.

But how many more times this season does Jones get the ball and run up the middle for no gain or 1 to 2 yards? It is not like he is Barry Sanders and you can take those no gain or 2 yard gains knowing there is a big one coming.

Like I said, no matter who is starting the game, the results are the same with this o-line. MBIII likes to dance around too much which could actually end up being worse if he DID start.

Like Barber Bouncing it for a 1 yard gain was any better please that is a horrible reply. Jones was the better runner tonight period.

Both backs are solid and that is why they will split the carries :bang2:

If all of this is true then why doesn't Jones have good second half numbers this season? If it doesn't matter who is running the ball then why is Barber the one who performs best? Barbar also gives you the ability to swing him out of the backfield and throw the ball. Jones just isn't that type of player.

Just curious, why is this a horrible reply? Do you like Jones running for no gain? Are you pleased with his 2 yard runs practically every time he touches the ball?

We have two pretty good backs. We don't have any great backs. We can win with two pretty good backs, we are winning with two pretty good backs.

I would love to see this team with a stud RB, well and a slightly better OL.

No because Barber does the same thing; funny tonight averages Jones 3.5ypc Barber 3.4ypc so tell me how Barber running sideways dancing around for 1-2 yard gains is any different than Jones running up inside and only able to get 1-2 yard runs.

He HAS had some good runs in the second half...he's had a couple of nice long ones called back due to penalties that didn't even affect the run.

Plus, Barber is in there more often it seems.

Why make this about one of the RB's anyway? It doesn't matter WHO the RB is with this o-line. MBIII's #'s are helped with those 2 long runs at the end of 2 games. And no, I'm not one for taking those runs away to amke my point either.

The bottom line is that the o-line needs to be run-blocking better.

There was one play that sticks out in my mind...at the beginning of the 4th qtr., MBIII got tackled at the line of scrimmage by not 1, not 2, not 3, not even 4, but 5 bills....go ahead and tell me that isn't on the o-line.

I would agree 100%. Neither back seems to be the complete answer, but based on what Barber can do in the passing game I would be starting him rather than starting Jones.

I am not saying to get rid of Jones, but his type of running would seem to be to be better when you have a lead than it is when you are starting the game. I also think I would rather Barber be the third down back even on drives Jones starts. I just don't like the way they are platooning these guys.

Maybe we can get a stud RB with the Cleveland pick next April.
