I don't give a crap where Julius ranks so long as we are winning.......stats mean nothing to me.......personally.

Agreed!
Stats are good as long as wins are first...

Stats mean nothing....whatever. With a coach like BP, if we are running successfully then we are winning or we should be. The more yards that JJ has in this offensive system, the more likely we are winning and above .500.

In short, Run JJ Run. You too MBIII.

Julius Jones leading the league in rushing means a lot of Cowboy wins.

I agree. If the offense is based on being a blanced attack then JJ running well and Barber running well are critical to this teams success.

and it was rated as a very average draft for running backs. Go figure.

The only back in front of JJ now, is Tiki... Dunn put up 69 yds today so he falls back to 96 YPG... we will hold Tiki under 80, while JJ will put up at least 140 on the NYG D. (He's only 38 yds behind AFTER Tiki's 185 yd game)

JJ will also have the TOTAL yardage lead and have his picture on the front page of the NFL Stats page - http://www.nfl.com/stats ;)

Chester Taylor had 169 yards rushing today, so he is ahead of Julius in total yards by 96 yards right now. He has also played the same number of games, so Julius needs 96 yards to have him in yards per game also. I didn't check the other backs, but Tiki isn't the only back in front of Julius.

Nice tidbit.

I could really care less if he gets 1 yard. I just want to win.
I could care less if TO has no catches. As long as we win.
That goes for any player and any stats.

I want the W.

Ha! That reminds me when my high school won our conference championship while amassing negative yards.

We won 20-0 and scored on an 2 INTs and a blocked field goal while finishing with -65 yards in a torrential downpour.

what makes you so sure tiki won't get 80 yards or more?

Hopefully the Boys will shut him down. We have one of the better run defense in the league and this should be a very good challenge for the defense.

The giants are giving up 113.8 yards per game on the ground. So to say julius will get at least 140 yards is a bit of a stretch. I'm sure the Giants will be pumped, and he'll have a hard time getting 100 yards against them.

And if he gets 90 yards or less, he'll be 4th in rushing total and rushing average per game, behind Tiki, Chester Taylor, and Tatum Bell.

The only back in front of JJ is Tiki (check http://www.nfl.com/stats/playersort/NFL/RB-RUSHING/2006/regular tomorrow morning)... Chester's 169 today puts him at 98.3, JJ is at 98.8.

Secondly, once JJ plays on MNF, he will then have the same # of games (6) as Chester (and Tiki) and (I project) will have the most yards of all.

In the 40yr history of the NFL, only one back that has lead the league in rushing has won the superbowl and I think it happened twice.... his name was Emmitt Smith.
