Julius will be the #1 rusher in the NFL after Monday night!

140 seems a tad ambitious. Considering their weakness (secondary) versus our strength (WRs) I think Julius' role in the gameplan might be reduced. Remember what we tried to do to Philly....I see it coming back. Hopefully with more success.

Any rushing stats concerning Julius has to be kept in context. Remember he usually plays on 1st and 2nd down and comes out on 3rd down. I think we have a great platoon at RB.

The giants are giving up 113.8 yards per game on the ground. So to say julius will get at least 140 yards is a bit of a stretch. I'm sure the Giants will be pumped, and he'll have a hard time getting 100 yards against them.

yes, but look at how they arrived at that 113.8 avg...
1.) a RB challenged Indy (29+26: Rhodes+Addai)
2.) 107 vs. the Eagles
3.) Seattle with Alexander (47 yds) hurt (broke his foot in that game)
+ 59 to the other Seattle backs
4.) 78 vs. Wash (w/ Portis injured)
5.) 223 given up to a good rushing team in Atlanta (we have this kind of potential)

JJ was injured prior to game in DAL last year and did not play, he was still recovering when we went to the meadowlands...

JJ will have a Seattle / Carolina kind of game tomorrow night!

that '04 RB class may be one of the best in recent memory

Steven Jackson
Julius
Tatum Bell
Kevin Jones

all doing well
Ironic seeming how it was downplayed at the time as a weak class of runners with Jackson being the creme of a crop of supposed so so's, I think the surprising play of one Julius Jones along with the likes of that other Jones and Jackson have made it a clear cut runningback bonanza in terms of the last decade. Remeber the duds Chris perry and Tatum Bell? If Julius hadn't struggled academically for a time on a underachieving Fighting Irish squad he may have never been there for Dallas to grab.

what makes you so sure tiki won't get 80 yards or more?

Tiki's games so far this year:

1.) 110 yds (on 18 carries) v. Indy (worst Run D in NFL - Rank 32)
2.) 51 yds (on 21 carries) v. Philly (avg/Good run D - R14)
3.) 64 yds (on 14 carries) v. Seattle (Good run D - R6)
4.) 123 yds (on 23 carries) v. Wash (avg. run D - R17)
5.) 185 yds (on 26 carries) v. Atlanta (avg run D - R15)

Atlanta imploded that day... Tiki can pile up rushing yds, but has many avg/poor days as well against good rushing Ds...

We held Tiki to 64 yds last year in Big D ;-)
We can do it again.

In the 40yr history of the NFL, only one back that has lead the league in rushing has won the superbowl and I think it happened twice.... his name was Emmitt Smith.

Are you sure?

I could've sworn that Terrell Davis led the NFL in rushing when the Broncos won back to back.

The only back in front of JJ now, is Tiki... Dunn put up 69 yds today so he falls back to 96 YPG... we will hold Tiki under 80, while JJ will put up at least 140 on the NYG D. (He's only 38 yds behind AFTER Tiki's 185 yd game)

JJ will also have the TOTAL yardage lead and have his picture on the front page of the NFL Stats page - http://www.nfl.com/stats ;)

:starspin

Good info. It's always good to know these things for players and fans personal interest.

but against seattle and philly they were gettin whooped. they gave up on the run cause they were down by so much.

Tiki will not get this tomorrow night, im confident about that. Eli will be forced to beat us

Bizwah I think ur right. LOL anyways the point is it doesn't happen often strangely enough... but I forgot about TD. My bad.

I'll buy that on the Seattle game, but not on the philly game... he got his avg of carries (they just shut him down: 21 for 51 yds)

He did, and what the other guy meant to say was 40 year history of the Super Bowl. The NFL has been around close to 90 years.

Man as long as Julius Jones can stay healthy and break a long run here and there like Mick said on DallasCowboys.com then I'm fine!
