I seriously doubt I will ever get chosen even though I would gladly serve.
I always thought I would gladly serve also. One time was enough to convince me I had some seriously flawed thinking. Of course it's possible the trial I served on was the exception not the rule. I won't take any more chances because I'll say whatever is needed to get dismissed ASAP.

I have been called to Jury Duty 13 times I have served on a Jury 12 times.

How is that possible? Don't they have to wait several years before they can call you again? That's how it is in my county.

One reason, I work for the County and close to the court house and when the Jury pool runs dry for the day the courts send bailiffs out to stand in front of our building and pick people off as they leave the building. :laugh2:

As for any time line that would exempt you if you have served on a jury in the last 6 months you can be excused.

The more likely excuse is you are waiting outside the courthouse preying on questionable women.

I knew the pervert was strong in you.

One a serious note.

I think where I live it is one to two years that you can get out of it. In other words they still will send out the notice but if you have served on a jury within a year or two you can just put that in the notice and return it and you will be excused. I know because there is a woman at my work that got a notice the same time I did and she got out of it as she had jury duty within the past year.

I also have to wonder how the size/population of a county plays into it. If it is a very small population maybe the time frames between are shorter vs possibly a longer period in a larger populated area. I mean the size of the jury pool could be a determining factor.

I really wish I had gotten the notice earlier or later in the year. Really was wanting to do it for some time. Just happened to be at a bad time.

Now in your case...That many times...I think I would be pulling every trick in the book to get out of it. Sounds like you have more than served enough times.

On the pervert comment. Shh don't tell my secrets. :laugh2:

As for serving on a Jury, I actually think it is an honor to be part of our justice system. I take it seriously and have always gone into it with the mindset that we are all innocent until proven guilty.

I have never changed my vote with other members of the jury just to get out early because as I tell them at the end of the day you have to look yourself in the mirror and ask if you did right by the person who was on trial. I would never want to send an innocent person to jail so the state has to do allot to make me convict.

In the few occasions I have served on Civil Trials I always try to be open minded and fair to all parties involved.

Well thanks. It can be a pain sometimes but being part of our system is something people should take seriously I know if I was sitting on trial I would want a jury to give me a fair shake.

I've never been chosen.

My retired dad called them to volunteer to be on jury duty one time. He never heard from them since. If you don't want jury duty, try volunteering for jury duty.:) They probably think you are crazy and take your name off the list.

Just wear a shirt into the court room that says: "Kill'em all, let god sort them out."

As a lawyer, I am exempt from jury duty so I never have the burden of serving.

If you want out just say you cannot be fair and have heard about the case and already have decided how you will vote.

You guys have more juries down there than we do.

Hell I don't even run trials before juries as you cannot have a jury in a divorce case.

In Ca you can be summonsed every year unless you've been selected to serve on a jury.

I never go. I just throw away the summons. I'm not waisting my time. Besides, they can't PROVE I ever got the summons for jury duty in the first place. Technically, they can follow up and enforce my absence, but they NEVER do.

I cannot speak for other cities, but in Tucson if you do not show up for jury duty a warrant is issued for your arrest. I have seen several instances where someone gets stopped by a cop and the warrant is served. You may get off light, but I would never risk any arrest.

You must be young. Are you not in school? That's a get out of jury duty free card.

It's not even bad. Just go in and say some stupid crap to get dismissed. Unless you want to, you know, do your civic duty and maybe shape someone's future. But who the hell wants to do that?
