Grubbs in the first rd? for that matter ANY guard in the first rd????

no thanks...wasted high draft pick

David

i didn't necessarily say to stay in the 1st round..i just said to trade down from our 1st round pick..even if that means trading down to the 2nd

It was well known that BP did not dare put McQ on the practice squad- several teams made it known they would grab him off of waivers.
But some so called FANS obviously are not as well informed as they THINK they are.

Because being active those last two games really showed you what kind of player he is going to be...

McQ is as talented as any tackle in the game, it's about whether he gets it, and how good the coaching of him is

those 2 are yet to be determined, but it can't hurt to give him a shot, he has all the necessary talent: large frame to add more weight, long arms, athleticsm, quickness, he just needs more experience, coaching and strength

It seems if we go O-line in the draft, that unless Brown drops to us that we will need to trade down due to the fact that the value for guys like Blaylock, Grubbs, Sears etc. lie in that area below our fist and before our second.

I believe we have a few areas we could use, and my philosophy is to draft the player of those positions that has impact potential, and slipped down to us. Thats why I was so disgusted when we passed on Mcneil last year.

If we can get a player in the twenties who could be just as talented as the guys in the teens than I'm happy.

I hope we can address the o-line in FA and in the draft, but I don't approve of breaking the bank for a guard just because we have failed to draft a couple good ones. Save the money to re-sign our core players and draft some good ones.
As for the draft I have these guys targeted as my wish list, and I think if a special player slips a little thaty we should trade up and get him, period!

Dale Jarett WR USC
Levi Brown OT Penn State
Hall CB Michigan
Reggie Nelson S Florida
Laron Landry S LSU

These guys I expect to be gone, but if one slips anywhere close to our pick, I say go get em!

I like these guys as fair value at our pick, or by moving back a few spots

Justin Blaylock OT/G Texas
Aaron Ross CB Texas
Brandon Merriweather S/CB Miami
Michael Griffin S Texas
Grubbs G Auburn
Sydney Rice WR South Carolina

Naturally I would love for any of these guys to slip to the second. I would also be tempted to grab Michael Bush if available in the second.

Talented tackles dont get drafted on the second day...

Project players with potential do...

To say that McQuistan is as talented as any tackle in the game is a bit of a stretch. MCQ has potential sure but its funny how people glamor at a guy that dressed maybe 3 games..:laugh2:
