Yea you folks that can see the Boys whenever you want are so freaking lucky. Thank God for Direct TV, all the years I had to suffer waiting for the score on the sports ticker on CNN headline news or halftime highlights or post game highlights. Hopefully people will start to realize the revitalization of the Cowboys and the fans will be far more energetic at the games. 12th man is sooo important.

That's so frustrating to hear about the noise. I could tell it was quiet as hell and I wasn't there. I hate listening to games in Arrowhead or Mile High because I wish our ticket holders could do that. It's embarassing to have such history and such quiet fans some games. This is a team that can take over visitor's houses but is still quiet at home. ~~sigh~~

Hey Jerry, you got some extra tickets and your jet free for a week? There's about 200 diehard Cowboys fans at this board who would do their best to make Texas Stadium OUR HOUSE!

Thanks for the recap! I totally agree with the red zone offense...we somehow gotta mix it up. I'm with ya 100% on Witten is aour biggest weapon there and not really using him. Let's hope we add some plays to the playbook during the bye week.

Oh my gosh, is that a true statement.

I would go to Dallas every week if that were the case.

Bring it Jerry, we "out of towners" will ROCK the house !! :star: :yourock: :star:

I have discussed this many times before. The reason Texas Stadium is not as loud as other places is because Dallas has so many people (alot of them with money) that are not from Dallas. Dallas is known as the Texas' Silicon Valley and alot of Northeasterners, Techheads from the West and individuals from Foreign Countries come here because of the heavy concentration of Tech Firms.

I dont necessarily buy that. Here in Denver you could basically say the same thing about the demographics. It's "hard" to find a native Coloradoan between the ages of say 30 and 45. It doesnt keep the place from being packed and the fans raising hell.

As others have said numerous times though it is sad that there isnt more crowd noise week in and week out. Since they're playing in a virtual dome and a football only facility at that where the crowd is pretty close in, it could have a huge impact on the other teams ability to function.

All they need to do is look at Denvers offense in the red zone. There is not a better team in the NFL using TE's near the goal line. Very creative.

Hey, all I can do is present the Demographic Data.

I also need to point out that in a Book I finished reading a year ago, alot Cowboys players in the 70s loved the new stadium in Irving, but there are some quotes in the book where some said the crowd was not as VOCAL and ROWDY as the fans in South Dallas were, which is where the Cotton Bowl is located.

If Texas Stadium was in Dallas instead of the SUBURBS things would be alot different. I expect it to be even worst when it is built in Arlington, which is one of the fastest growing Suburbs in America.

Your stadium is located in Denver, which gives people of mixed demographics access to the stadium. People from South Dallas, West Dallas, Oak Cliff, and alot of the poorer sections of Dallas arent going pay 40 bucks and spend gas trying to get to Irving and that goes double when it is built in Arlington.

i was at the Washington game on Monday Night, i sat around the 25 yard line, it was extremely loud all game long, i think throughout our history our stadium and crowd probably ranks down toward the bottom of the list as far as crowd noise is concerned. hopefully the new stadium might add some excitement in the future. :starspin

Then everyone will need their own special buddy :)

In otherwords....if you live outside of Texas and don't want to spring the cash for NFL ticket....

Then I would recommend that you buy one of your buddies in Texas a special and early christmas gift.....prefereably one with high speed access. And with the caveat that you get to have use of that gift once a week.

I hear ya, Mike. I dunno, I think it just has more to do with attitude than anything else. No matter where the stadium is located, it shouldnt make *that* much difference.

Remember, when comparing Denver to DFW, DFW has about 1 million more people to draw from (of all different income levels) in their market. In the big picture I dont think it matters much whether fans have to drive 30 miles instead of 3 miles.

In a market as big as DFW (7th largest I think), not to mention all the people from even 100 or 200 miles away that would think nothing of the trip for every home game, you wouldnt think it would be that hard to find 65K to go flat out nuts 8 times a year.

A lot of things go into it but the bottomline is with certain markets/teams, no matter the sport, the venue is either considered the place to be/the thing to do week in and week out, year after year.. or it's not.

In Dallas, even with the storied tradition, it's not.

it really was...and the thing is the fans wont make any damn noise for our defense, but will scream and yell like crazy at stupid crap like some guy throwing t-shirts or that idiot Rowdy acting like a goof ball..
This has always been one of my pet peeves, but I will say that the stadium has been loud in the past (during the mid-90's), and I sure thought it was loud for the home game against the Eagles this year.

I understand that, but the fact that it is in the middle of the Burbs, alot of the fans that can afford the tickets have no ties to the area, at one point Tailgating was outlawed, No public transportation for transport to the Stadium, and at one point beer was outlawed.

People wonder why Texas Stadium is dead, I am laying out some facts that will help make the situation clear.

It just makes sense to me :) .

There did seem to be too many no shows yesterday. There were so many I even posted a question as to whether the game was sold out or not. I dare say the cheers for the Cowboys in Seattle last week were louder than at Texas Stadium.

There is no excuse for ads during the Cowboys Huddle show saying great seats and ticket packages are still available.

The passive Texas Stadium crowd has always vexed me. I mean, Texas is a football hotbed at the high school and college level. Why not the pros? Maybe the high ticket prices freeze out the passionate, diehard fans.

Well the crowd at the break room with the 10 inch screen at my second job was boisterous, this is a really serious problem we should work on along with those pesky capital gains taxes and all those other day to day issues of the average working man. This is the price you pay for jacking the prices up so much that the average person is relegated to watching it on the tube..

I have seen the ticket prices and they don't seem too bad. I know for hockey games up here in Vancouver, I pay something like $150.00 per ticket. Football prices aren't bad.

I was also at the game and agree it was a quiet stadium. I also attended the Skins and Eagles games and they were toatly different atmosphere. Yesterday was like going to a funeral.

I attend all the home games and frankly, it depends on who we are playing. It was a great for the other 3 - it is just hard to get up for AZ. I was yelling and carrying on as I always do. On the other hand, it certainly wasn't a tomb either.
