Just CHILL: Jones not concerned about Sensabaugh
Clarence Hill
According to agent Kevin Connor, restricted free agent safety Gerald Sensabaugh has drawn interest from three or four teams, though no visits have been set up.
The news did not come as a surprise to owner Jerry Jones, who is not concerned the Cowboys might lose Sensabaugh because they gave him with a second-round restricted free agent tender of $1.8 million.
Though they want him back and are even considering a long-term contract extension, the Cowboys made a shrewd business decision. They don't believe a team will give up a second-round pick as compensation for Sensabaugh. If someone does, the Cowboys could always match the offer.
"That doesn't surprise me for any of our players to have interest," Jones told reporters said Tuesday. "I don't know that that's a concern because I've heard it. I crossed that bridge when we made the decision on what we were going to do in free agency on restricting him . . . So I thought that one through."
