I have zero faith that this team, in a big spot, can get some quality stops. As much as I bag on Dak and the offense at times, if you have a defense in games like this where you can get a stop or two late, you can absolutely come back and win these types of games given what this offense can do.

But Eberflus puckers up in these spots with conservative play calls. Why? I have no idea. That third and long midway through the 4th where Detroit made that big play, is a time when you play aggressive desperate to make a play. Instead he rushed four and we played a passive/soft pass D behind it. Detroit had skewered that all game but Eberflus, I guess, thought it would finally work then.

There is zero creativity to this defense. Zero. For all his flaws and all the criticism we had of Quinn, at times for maybe being too aggressive, they were never plain, never vanilla, always trying to be aggressive, always trying to make a play. We went from that to the opposite with Eberflus.

What has he shown you that makes you think he's the answer and deserves more time? Because almost everytime you have to say, "Well, if he gets better players he'll be OK..........." that's a giant flashing sign that he's not the guy.

No, Hell no. Sometimes you have to just believe what your eyes are showing you. Eberflus is a freaking bum, he couldnt scheme a stop if his life depended on it. Last thing we need is to burn another year getting this guy some “training”. Send his *** to the retiring home and get a coach in here that can coordinate the modern game.

That was a quintessential Eberflus game. Lots of soft zones, puckered up when he needed to be aggressive and make a play. Bobby Belt tweeted that on Goff's first 6 drop backs we pressured him 4 times with 3 blitzes. On his last 29 drop backs, we blitzed only 5 times, pressured him 4 times.

Eberflus plays a passive, reactive style of defense. Pair that with a defense with clear talent issues at certain positions, specifically LB, and you get what you get out there.

The defense should be gutted this offseason and that should start with the DC.

Yep, the bad defense has returned. Granted the turnovers didn't help but it was really only the deflected int that spotted them 7. With the Ferg fumble earlier with penalties they drove them back to 1st and 25 and still gave up a first down.

His lack of any real football acumen shines here. A quality GM looking for a DC understands the talent he has and unless he's getting some upper level, top notch DC, you gotta try to fit the DC with what you have.

He has a roster of better man CBs so he goes out and gets a guy that has played more zone than just about any other DC/HC over the last 5-6 years. Why? Because he once coached here and Jerry thinks he's a swell guy.
