Just For Kicks...Your Worst Nightmare Mock

aka Sensible.

Sorry. Just because you hate him, doesn't make it a bad pick.

And surely you know that Wade is against starting rookies. So, all the draft picks are going to be backups their rookie year.

Maybe, you and your all-knowing crystal ball know that Cody is a career backup.

A bunch of character risks a la Derek Ross, Kareem Larrimore, and Willie Blade.

Hopefully Jerry hasn't forgotten.

You are definitely not the only one that doesn't want to draft a kicker.

Now delete this post before anyone gets any ideas!

O'Brien Scoffield The poor guy tore an ACL during Senior Bowl practices. He probably won't get drafted and will have to rehab on his own dime without access to all the perks pros get.

It shouldnt die. On the snap Ratliff got at end he got a sack and quite frankly he has never really tried there because we have never had anyone who merited getting significant snaps at DT. Wade Phillips has a long and storied history of successful DE in pretty much everywhere hes gone. Smith, Dronett, Castillo and the guy from NO who eludes me atm. He even made Marcellus Wiley look good at end.

I am not saying move him there permanently but the ability to move him up and down the line especially to suit matchups would be ideal. Certain centers like O'Hara can handle his speed and gobble him up in the run game and hes shown inconsistency in handling double teams which is little surprise considering his size. Use a guy like Cody as a battering ram 20 snaps a game and have Ratliff move around.

Also Norwood would play ILB for us and would be a coup in the third. Iupati, Bennett and Norwood would be a dream come true for me. Add in Troupe in the fourth and Nirvana has come to earth.

yep....first everyone wants to get back up players... then everyone wants to trade back up players cause they never get to play.....

either that or take pro bowl ..all pro players at one position and move them to another....because THEY know what they are talking about...:bang2:

Even a guy like Iupati isn't guaranteed to start. Noone we draft in the second would start so thats a silly argument.

Yes. 1 snap, start him at DE.

Go ahead and start Victor Butler over Anthony Spencer too and over DeMarcus Ware since he was able to get 3 sacks in 3 snaps early in the season.

This is called taking things out of context and not using even 5th grade critical thinking skills.

Butler had some success rushing the passer so it bears to reason that he will have success in the future. It also bears to reason that if Ratliff had success there that he might have success in the future. I even said not stop starting Rat there. Dear lord.

The rules are the players have to be slotted near enough where you take them to be feasible. My philosophy is going to be that needs are ignored. Therefore, here is my worst nightmare Mock. These players will be talented, but simply will not fill needs.

1. #27...Tim Tebow, QB, Florida, 6'3", 235. In my worst nightmares Jerry feels the need to have a dedicated "Razorback" QB and tries to get cute. Not only do I detest that formation, I think the only good that could ever come of drafting Tebow is if it is to work out final details of a trade to some other team that blesses us completely. Which never happens in nightmares.

2. #59...Terrence Cody, NT, Alabama, 6'4", 370. Using a 2nd round pick on a backup would just frost my cookies. We have a Pro Bowl caliber NT who wants to play that position, don't screw with it. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Supply whatever cliche' you need, just don't try and sell me on this player who could eat himself out of the league being a good choice here. Nuh uh, I don't buy it.

3. #91...Eric Norwood, OLB, South Carolina, 6'1", 245. If we skip ILB where we have some players who are aging and take an OLB where we have tremendous youth and depth I am going to hurt someone. If we do it and grab a guy who is only 6'1" it will just make that person's pain so much worse. Norwood can play, but I don't want anything to do with him.

4. #123...Anthony McCoy, TE, 6'5", 250. We don't trade Bennett and still draft a TE and make it one who had so so results plus was declared academically ineligible and I will personally kick Bill Parcells in the shins for starting this Draft a TE streak.

6. #187...O'Brien Scoffield, OLB, Wisconsin, 6'2", 240. If one too short OLB would send me over the edge, imagine two. Especially if we completely ignore KR and OL to do it for a guy who is talented but clearly hurting and may not even play in 2010.

7. #219...Josh Aruco, K, Arkansas State, 5'9", 210. I realize everyone wants to Draft a Kicker except me because I hate the sawed off twerps. How about a sawed off fat one who has a maximum range of about 45 yards? Oh yeah, I would go postal.

Can you make me scream in terror worse than I just made you do it?

I dunno, but this one would make me retch:

1) Charles Brown, OT, USC... just what we need, another weak, undersized but agile OT from SC... I'm still having nightmares about the last one...

2) Terrence Cody, DT, Alabama... you have that one exactly right, Hos...

3) Mike Williams, WR, Syracuse... yeah, let's spend a third round draft pick on a player who quit...

4) John Jerry, OG, Mississippi... this guy is the pet cat of a lot of folks in here, and I just don't get it...

5) Brandon Carter, OG, Texas Tech... we take picks 6 and 7 and trade up to get another tattooed hulk to balance out Igor on the defensive side of the ball... too bad this one can't get out of his own way...

Now I need to go lose my lunch...

Exactly. Give Cody 15 snaps a game. Allowing Rat to stay fresh.

Not really sure on how that is an awful pick. It's actually a smart one.

Get back to me after Fat Boy has eaten his way out of the league... anybody who wants to play in the NFL and shows up for the interview process as sloppy fat as he is lacks the discipline to succeed in the NFL...

It doesn't take a crystal ball to know that Cody has bust written all over him, all you have to do is take one look at the picture of him with his shirt off...

Yeah, I'm gonna pay millions of dollars to a fat blob...

And then you watch him play on the field and you realize the guy can play. If there were no conditioning concerns he would go in the top half of the first round. If he falls to the bottom half of the second round then he is value.

I have faith in our scouts and if they interview him and the coaches and treainers think they can work with him then we would be foolish not to take him in the late 50s. Hes not going to be there anyway.

If Terrence Cody read your picks, all he would take out of your blurb about him would be "Eat Cookies"

Ask yourselve's this. Would you take Albert Haynesworth at a fraction of the cost?

If your answer is yes, then you say yes to drafting Terrence Cody.

Cody's not half the athlete Haynesworth is now (let alone as a rookie), but in a 3-4 we don't need him to be. If he's there at #59 and we don't take him, that's a disaster. Really Hos, how many 2nd round picks won't be back-ups for us (probably only one position and it rhymes with quicker :) )

Haynesworth is 350 lbs. He's not the athlete he once was. But both Mt. Cody and Fat Albert have great quickness that belies their girth. They both also require double-team attention. And yes, both get winded.

Have you seen him play?

He's DOMINATED entire games in the SEC. You couldn't run against that D.
