I've owned an Epiphone Les Paul for many years now.

It has been a great guitar and still is.

But I have long awaited the day that I would own a true Gibson Les Paul.
Well that day has finally arrived...
and I couldn't be happier.
It's a limited edition model.
All Mahogany... weighs less than the all the other Les Pauls. (If you've owned one then you know how heavy L.P.s are)
It has a '59 neck which is slightly oversized. (perfect)
And the best pickups money can buy. (Alnico 5 Burstbucker Pros)
Aww man this thing plays sweet.
I highly recommend it to any LP fans.
All for less than a grand, too.

Thanks, Yeag.
It's nicer in person.

I like the no-frills, look to it. No gloss, no paint... just ROCK OUT look.
It smells of freshly cut Mahogany, too. Nice touch.
That coupled with their best pickups makes it a machine.

Gibson's main factory is in Memphis, I believe.

Congrats.

As a guitarist I know the excitement that comes from getting a new guitar.

I often tell Juke that it is like being a kid in a candy store.

congrats qwick!

i love the sound of a les paul played by gary rossington ..

Nice looking guitar. I play bass so I know the feeling of getting a beauty like that.

Oh baby...That's the guitar....Great looking...very unique...I had a '59 Melody Maker that had the same finish...

Congrats...I know you must be in heaven...

I've been known to buy a guitar or two myself.

HAVE FUN!

Thanks Juke.

I am in heaven.

But here's the deal...
When I was researching the models to make my choice, I was drawn to this one partly because of the great reveiews I heard about the '59 neck which is chunkier than the 60's slim neck. After getting this one home and playing it, I have realized that this particular one has the slim neck. I'm still satisfied because it's the same as my old Les Paul so I can play it as though Ive owned it for years.
But now Im wondering if I should return it for one with the thicker neck...

Anyone have any experience playing the '59 neck style?
Can you offer me a recommendation?
