Just how cheap the Cowboys have been in free agency over the last decade

For at least the 10th year in a row we will be worse off at the end of the main free agency period than we were before it started. That's not how you make a team that was pretty bad last year and has crashed and burned every year for decades now when the games mattered the most and who has a bunch of glaring holes better and especially when we have had the last two first round picks that we have had. Someone tell me. What is the plan to make this team better? Seriously? Are they even trying at this point? Singing backups or guys that would be backups on a good teams isn't what free agency is about when you aren't a good team. Fill your holes and allow yourself to go into the draft not needing to draft by position regardless of whether a good player is on the board at that position or not. In free agency guys are available at every position. You know the cost. It isn't overpaying when it is the going rate.

Jerry is too busy playing with his 400 million dollar dinghy out in the ocean to have much energy left to construct a viable NFL roster

The Jones boys building the roster…

This is how you acquire multiple worlds largest yachts and build a NASCAR track - own 77% of the shares of Conoco gas.:

Here’s your free agent money

  • In 2019, Jones invested $1.5 billion of his own money into Comstock

  • In 2024, Jones invested $100 million into Comstock, increasing his ownership stake to 67%

  • Jones has also invested in Covey Park Energy, a Dallas-based competitor of Comstock

Why has Jones invested in Comstock?
  • Jones has said that the Haynesville shale basin is "the most efficient place in the world to have natural gas"

  • The Haynesville basin is a massive gas deposit that's close to the coast, making it convenient for exporting natural gas liquids

  • The Haynesville basin is split between Texas and Louisiana

How has Jones' investment in Comstock performed?

  • Jones' investment in Comstock has outperformed his investment in the Cowboys, according to OklahomaMinerals.com

As of March 11, 2025, Jerry Jones has a net worth of $16.6 billion and is ranked #122 in the world,

Remember that the next time you buy. merchandise

Saw this yesterday evening and I cringed!!! Yet I bet in a blink of an eye we can name 50+ of our own guys we spent that on and doubled that amount
It's why Dallas has the motto "we like our guys". They are so desperate to show they know what they are doing. Signing your own draft picks to big extensions doesn't automatically mean that player is deserving and talented, either.

It's the way we work, and we've adapted to this mindset, and we won't stray away from it

They never seem to sign FAs for more than a year or two as well.

The CAP has increased so much over the last decade that teams have changed their approach to free agency, but Jerry has always been stuck in the 90s so not really expecting much to change.

And even if we drafted very well (we don't), it usually isn't enough. The best teams are proactive. This means utilizing free agency and trades. Eagles is the perfect example of this. Roseman has won a Super Bowl with 2 totally different teams in the span of 7 or 8 years. Dallas had diddled around and won 2 wild card games in that timeframe. There's a reason for that and it isn't just bad luck.

Philly knew Carson Wentz wasn't going to cut it and got a huge haul for him. If you go look at that trade, they nailed every single pick and the players they ended up drafting with those picks, all were a huge part of their core. Not to mention the Barkley signing. KC does the same. Hence why those teams are constantly in the mix.

So the 2 guys the Jones clown show spent a little money on:

1. Hardy - a crazed fool fresh off of brutally attacking a young woman.

2. McCoy - A declining player who had the quadriceps tendon of an 80 year old.
I have the hammies of an 80 year old. Very little disturbance to the hammies cause me grief. Work the flexibility my older forum friends!
