Is Orton on par with Kitna? Kitna went 4-4 as a starter.
4-5 record..some would say 4-6 because Dallas led the Giants when Romo went down.
But 4-5 is fair.
So as a starter in 2010, 14TDs, 12 ints,
..

lol. "We wouldn't even be 8-8!" What does 8-8 get you, exactly?

Middle of the pack teams are generally going to go 6-10 to 10-6. I'd rather face that than picking in the top 5 or 10 of the draft the next year. 10-6 often gets you into the playoffs. Ask the 9-7 NYG team how they felt about getting in the playoffs.

More importantly it generally means you have some decent talent on the team. If you can improve the overall talent from there and have a few playmakers then you might have a team than can consistently compete for a championship. Esp if you already have the QB.

And saying 8-8 in a vacuum also completely overlooks the fact the defense was decimated last year by injury and the OL wasn't exactly working on all cylinders. If you can score 22 pts a game and have a better than average defense you are at least in the hunt. Score 25 and give up 17 and you have a superior team.

Oh great we wouldnt be able to get our usual 8-8

I'm not one of the ones ing about the contract because it was more or less inevitable and the deal itself really isn't too bad, but thats just a terrible argument you made.

With that said.... fix the o line with real talent and top notch players, maintain an affective and consistent running game, and improve the D or its irrelevant who the QB is. All the arguing for and against this contract is pointless unless we do at least 2 of those this offseason, and so far it isn't looking great.

Have faith we just might squeeze out 9 wins this year. We are on the upswing according to most people.

Everyone who doesn't think who thinks the contract was too much isn't automatically jealous.

Those names should tell everyone all that they need to know as to why pay Romo!! Imagine the Cowboys with any of those other guys taking snaps! We wouldn't even be 8-8!! Maybe a 4 or 5 win team with no Romo!! So what's the problem!!? As for McFlabb , he is obviously jealous....I mean the Deadskins tore up his "big" deal...what does that tell ya?? Come on man!! You got dumped for Rex Grossman!...I repeat Rex Grossman!...why don't you stick to soup commercials..Lord knows you look like you already ate the lifetime supply they gave you!...and will somebody offer him a nasal strip PLEASE!

:laugh2:

Donovan "Forced Retirement" McNabb.

In defense of McNabb, he said what he said to achieve a particular goal and that goal was NOT to put out any bit of truth about his feelings towards the Romo signing.

His goal was to create controversy, raise his level of relevance as a "Commentator" and grow his twitter account.

From a moral point of view, it's pretty lame, but if you remove that and look at it from the perspective of someone in dire need raising his status in his new line of work, it was a success.

I'm not making this up or form an opinion based on conjecture. He said as much while on the NFL Network as an analyst. He gloated about how his Twitter following grew 10x after he posted the tweet. The group then went on to chuckle about how well the ploy worked (McNabb, Mariucci I think and whoever else was in studio at the time).

I've never seen so many people so excited to be 8-8.

I've never seen so many people mistake others understanding of how the game of football works with being excited.

Exactly... its not about "achieving" 8-8....its just a fact that Romo helps win more games than he helps lose. Do I wanna b 8-8? Of course not! But it makes feel better knowing that our QB is then main reason we even won 8 games! Would you rather him play down to everybody else's level or put the team on his shoulders and bust out as many wins as he can ?. That's the point...but some people just like to be constantly negative. I feel sorry for them actually.
