I sure hope him being happy and back home works out for us cuz from what I see in those eyes, who wants to try and get past him for real? Not I....

I hope they're right about him excelling at the guard position. They should be in that players can't run around him like they could at tackle. Now they'll have to deal with him - and I don't envy them.

he should excel at guard because there isn't that much space where he has to move, playing in space is his biggest problem, but he can move forward w/ the best of them and was actually quite good as a LG

Geez, I actually feel sorry for his shoes. People aren't supposed to be that big.

Let's hope he starts to play like Tarzan instead of just looking like him (which has been the case in his career so far).

Not alot of space in straight ahead battles, no. I think he will make alot of room for Jones and Barber. Also, probably real good in pass blocking.

The dude is huge, so I sort of wonder how he is going to do pulling, or if we are predominantly going to use Kosier for that.

One of the "Notebooks" on Cowboysplus.com mentions that he was in space on a screen play to JJ looking pretty doggone good. Me thinking this guy is gonna work out just fine for our O-Line...

I think hell be great at RG. Just because he couldnt handle speed rushers on the outside is not the same as pulling and being able to line someone up and obliterate them. Cant wait to see this new line in action hope they gel well and Romo can stay in the pocket a bit more. I would say were more likely to run behind Davis/Colombo as opposed to Gurode/Davis, but to be honest the line looks pretty equal to both sides. By all accounts Flo looks a helluva lot better than he did thi time last season.

There was an interesting quote about Davis by Edgerrin James in this week's ESPN magazine --

"Leonard is so big and, at times, the game is so easy for him. He can do whatever he wants whenever he wants -- when he sets his mind to it. He comes to work every day on time, and he takes care of his body. He's like Shaq -- he's bigger than everybody; he can bully everybody. If somebody gets him on one play, then the next play he'll pretty much maul them. If you watch film, you don't see him get beat back-to-back. His weakness is he's too relaxed at times. Things come easily, and he'll take it easy sometimes."

That's true for a lot of guys like that. I think Rob Petitti had some of that in him in college and it can make a guy a little lazy. They tend to develop bad habits because they don't need to work as hard on their technique due to their being so much bigger and stronger. Then they face the top guys and can't overpower them.

I think Davis will be a very good RG for us as he will not be required to face speed rushers and can focus on taking care of his assignments. The problem may be that he will become complacent and unmotivated but we'll see.

The picture of him doesn't look like he's got a huge gut or anything, he just looks massive!

What I wouldn't give to find another Erik Williams but with better character.
