Hey everyone,
I just had the opportunity to have lunch with former Dallas Cowboy Randy White today at Andrews Dist.,here in Corpus Christi.I was lucky enough to sit at the same table, and have a great conversation about this years team.Believe me when I tell you,He's not happy that the Cowboys havent been in the playoffs or Superbowl. We talked about the young players, and their mistakes, and he "quizzed" me on my knowledge of being a "Cowboys Fan".I'm happy to say,I held my own,and then the conversation turned to the injury that Spencer has.I thought it meant something, that Randy would mention him by name.He also said he would have loved to have Witten and Ware as his teammates when he played.
I noticed his hands, and especially his knuckles, and looked at how playing football took its toll on them.It looks like little caps underneath the skin, and I imagine its painful.

Great post, thanks for sharing.

Football is hell on your digits. I have a couple of crooked fingers and all of my friends have crooked fingers, lol.

What a great experience that must have been. I am not one who believes in treating Celebs or Athletes like gods but I must admit that I am a huge fan of Randy White. To be able to sit and talk with the man would be a real treat in my book. Wished it was me but am very happy that if it was not, you had that opportunity.

Thank you very much for sharing with us.

you're welcome.I noticed another thing about Randy I forgot to mention earlier. He always mentioned Tom Landry as "Coach Landry".To me,that shows a great deal of respect, since I've heard many other players refer to him as Tom.

Sounds like you were excited to meet those guys, but hopefully Charles wasn't "excited."

Do they still do radio shows with the Cowboys? I met about 20 or 25 of them when Emmitt Smith did his radio show at Fatso's off Lamar in Arlington (now gone) back in the 90s.

All you have to do is show up at those places and they usually sign autographs and will talk to you after the show.

He is one of my all time favorites. His intensity is the way I think DL should be played. I still think watching him and John Hannah battle against each other is one of the privileges of my life. A true clash of the titans.

I met RW in Ft. Lauderdale in the mid 90's. Extremely nice, he made time for a conversation. He even let me try on his SB XII ring. I sware I could almost fit 2 of my fingers in it.

Got his autograph on one of the miniture helmets. Same thing, referred to the greatest coach of all time as...Coach Landry....
