I'm going to toss this out there ... just don't shoot the messenger ... I did a quick google search and there was plenty of info about people with essential tremors using cannabis, more narrowed down, it looks like CBD Oil helps with tremors. If medicinal is available in your state it might be worth investigating. Israel treats Parkinson's patients in nursing homes with cannabis. And you can get CBD oil with minimal THC in it...

Just a little suggestion...
Although not the same thing, I was recently diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my wrists. The hand surgeon I saw recently had two interesting observations: first, move to a more vegetarian-based diet, in particular, reduce the intake of dairy and gluten (the idea is to bolster the auto-immune system) and second, consider using CBD oil.

After about a month, there has been a noticeable reduction in pain and inflammation. I still have reduced range-of-motion -- that will never change -- but at least I am relatively pain-free.

...and I've never heard of this before. I'm told I have stage 1 Essential Tremors (ET). My symptoms are shaking of my arms and hands and an inability to stop the shaking. I can feel a constant vibration that never goes away. It gets worse when I'm feeling anxiety. It affects my writing with pen and paper which is why I never do it anymore and it affects anything else I try to do that requires fine motor skills, like pouring water into a glass. It's expected to only get worse over the course of the rest of my life. For now, it's not so bad that I need medication for it but they tell me there is medication for me to take when it gets worse. I believe this is the same thing Ozzy Osbourne was diagnosed with and taking medication for.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has heard of ET or even have experience with it or with a loved one with it. I'm told it can get quite severe but even then there are things they can do to control it.
Hey Joe! I’m sure that’s a bit unsettling for you,as it would be for anyone, but you’re going to be ok man. You’ve got your wife to help you right now thank God,and there’s quite a few medications they have, from Botox to Xanax..and they’ll find out what’s best for you. You hang in there buddy. You’ll see....things will be ok,I promise. I owe you one BTW,for giving me that push to fight on,I did and still going. Thank you.

You carry on the fight and I will do the same. I've been living with this for several years. All that's changed is now I know what it is and more importantly, what it is not. It's treatable and you are right about my wife. She has 100% got my back. Thanks for the words of encouragement.

I apologize to my fellow Cowboy fans for what I'm about to say. Tom Brady is on a special diet to avoid inflammation. I wonder if certain foods could be eaten or avoided to help. Also, avoid Xanax if at all possible. It's extremely addictive and the dosage had to be increased in order to be noticeable. Stop taking it and hell will be paid. I'm weaning myself off it because the doctor that put me on it died and my new doctor doesn't feel like prescribing it.

No, not at all. Something in my brain is telling my arms and hands to slightly vibrate at all times. My wife tells me I even vibrate in my sleep... she likes it.
It hasn't affected your sense of humor.

Hoping the meds can give you some relief and while it's well meaning to suggest reducing stress, your diagnosis creates it. Does it help when you occupy your mind with something else or is it so involuntary nothing helps? Seems that since it is a brain trigger, they could isolate that and treat it.

Joe, hope Ozzy's lifestyle didn't bring his on and you share in that but if you did, I hope you had as much fun as he has had. And don't take this the wrong way but if we were buds, I'd invite you over and put cocktail shakers in your hands.

First, let me say "lifestyle" has nothing to do with the onset of this disease, it is acquired through hereditary and can remain dormant through a generation. As a result of my diagnosis, my doctor has advised me to stay away from stimulants such as anything with caffeine or alcohol. Stimulants enhance the vibrations. Honestly, I miss coffee more.

Yes, the initial diagnosis did create a certain amount of stress but my doctor informed me in such a way that I was quite relieved to know what it was not and so when he told me what it was I was only minimally affected. I hope that makes sense.

Yeah, I thought of that too my brother. My doc says I acquired this purely through my genes. Trust me, I would sue in a heartbeat if I had a case. Thank you for the kind words. Believe me when I say I'm doing fine and am in great hands for when I need them.

The diagnosis has been life changing only because I've been advised to avoid alcohol and coffee. I've been living with these vibrations for several years and thought it could be a result of something much worse like Parkinson's. What I have is much more treatable, just no cure. I appreciate the kind words.

*on one time when I'd been checked into a ' dry-out' clinic,,,I happened to be hanging around the front desk by this gal with what could easily be considered large hooters, when, this old "MR. BO-JANGLES" type was 'checking-in' ,,,& his RIGHT HAND kept constantly appearing( to me,anyway) like he was a card dealer slinging cards to the very players of Hells population,,, er,past, present & future remaining as yet foreseen,,,And he stunk,,,anyway, after she'd processed & assigned him quarters/ schedules, I'd asked her about,Mr. Bojangles One-eyed kings& jack slinging Hand he was sportin',,,she was like: "Hurump, err, err,,, maybe He's got a bit of the 'PALSY' going on",,,o_O

* now, that I've been forced to recollect that memory ( that Challenger Space shuttle blew up while I was in there that time) I've never accepted that 'PALSY' shovel full, in response to my inquiry:rolleyes:

Yes, it does. When you have something and don't know what it is, the mind can play with us. Now you know what you are dealing with and what you can do to at least minimize the effects on you.

I hope you don't think that I was being flippant about your condition but you showed humor about it and that opened my gate because that's how I deal with most of life.
