Again, I'll give you Mosely. And I really don't know about Foster from limited on-field sample. Now we may never know about him. But the fact that Bama can recruit best players in the country, yet we can only point to 3 first round LBs in past 8 years (Foster, Mosely, Hightower in 2012), tends to prove my point. Stand by what I said.

One, the last 8 drafts would include 2010. Rolando McClain was a first round pick in 2010.

Two, using the same logic bolded above, guess how many Alabama DL have been taken in the first round over the same 8 years?

2 - Dareus in 2011 and Allen in 2017.

So using your logic, it kind of shoots a massive hole in your theory that Alabama LBs are only good because they play behind great Bama DLs. Well, how great can those Bama DLs be if they have only produced 2 first round DL in 8 years?

I don't think he is a bad player. But he is most certainly not among the top 20 players in this draft if I am making a cold list of BPAs.

3-4 DLs usually do not get drafted in first round. That being said, there is a pretty long list of DLs that have been drafted in first two rounds from Bama (Jonathan Allen, Dalvin Tomlinson, Ashawn Robinson, Jarraun Reed, Marcel Dareus, Terrence Cody). And many more in rounds 3-5. I believe they have something to do with the success of the LBs behind them. You don't. We can agree to disagree... I just hope we don't have to find out this year with Evans on Dallas

Your ignorance of Foster as a rookie is your own issue. Those that pay attention know he was a good player. Him being a jackwad off the field is irrelevant.

Don't forget Hightower. The Pats desperately needed him last yr especially the Super Bowl.

I paid close attention. He played 9 full games. He had double digit tackles in 2 of those 9 games and ZERO sacks, INTs, or fumble recoveries. You might conclude from that he is a great player worthy of a first round pick. I do not.

Lee played 11 games and had 0 sacks, 0 FFs, and 1 INT. And you'd be lying if you said he wasn't a stud. Same thing with Foster.

And neither Lee nor Foster was picked 19th overall. That is my sole point. You want to trade back to 30 and pick Evans, I can live with that.

Lee's a top-five MLB in football, and Foster was getting up there last year. You don't necessarily need to make sacks, picks, or fumbles to be an elite linebacker.

The fact Foster is a dipwad doesn't disprove the point being made. The idea that Bama LBers are overrated because they play behind gret Bama DLs is largely dumb.
oh i know
its just the timing of mentioning Foster and the news today
i should have been more clear but i did say i wanted him in Dallas

Evans is my guy for our needs @ Mike position. He moves very good and hits with authority.
He's fair at diagnosing the play.

And as expected you now move the goalposts.

You are struggling to defend your position at this point. You offered up evidence that Bama LBs are overrated by pointing out how many have been taken in the first round. But when faced with the realization that same logic undercuts your point about DL quality, you want to now move the goal posts.

If you want to include 2nd round now, just know there have been a few Bama LBs drafted in Rd 2 over that period too - Ragland, Williams, Upshaw.

Agreed but 19 might be a little rich for my blood.

But by ignoring LB in free agency (Thomas is a back up) and having only Lee and Smith, they may be forced to use 19 on a guy like Evans.

Lighten up, Francis. This isn't a criminal trial. Obviously, you don't agree with me. That's fine. You are entitled to your opinion. As am I.
