As down as everyone is there are a few things for Cowboy fans to be thankful for and may bring a little reality to our chances.
FACT: As bad as we have played, we are only one game behind the Giants, Commanders and Eagles.
FACT: that the Giants, Commanders and Eagles have been mediocre at best even with their starting QB's and healthy team.
FACT: Neither the Giant, Commanders nor the Eagles have capitalized on Romo being out and have left us in the game.
FACT: both the Giant, Commanders and the Eagles still have to play Brady and the Patriots.
FACT: This weeks game Against the Eagles is HUGE and a win could cripple the Eagles chances for any tiebreakers with the Cowboys.
FACT: While many are mad about the lack of taking chances against the Seahawks, I believe Garrett thought the Defense would hold them on that last possession as they had most of the day. He showed faith in his defense and they fell short.
FACT: They too have to play many of the same opponents as we do.
FACT: I don’t think anyone can say that the Giants, Skins or Eagles are a team that scares people.
FACT: While the Cowboys offense has been pathetic our Defense is quietly starting to gel and once Romo comes back to put points on the board and keeping opposing offenses on the sidelines we will be a top defense.
FACT: While many will say we cant worry about the other teams are doing, the fact is that in the grand picture what they are doing or lack of doing all plays into our chances.
The FACT is we still have just a good of chance as anyone in the division.
A win against the Eagles is HUGE. Lets hope the players havent given up the way some fans have and they put this loss behind them and hope they can finally put a game together and stop the bleeding. No better way to get back on track then against the Eagles.

I agree with most of what you said with the exeption of #2 which also has me slightly worried. Fact, those other teams, and specifically the Giants, are not healthy. The Giants are missing their best OL in Beatty, Amukumara was out against us and may be out another week or two, they are decimated at linebacker, Cruz may be coming back soon as well as JPP. If they get all their players back, they could be much improved.

No telling how effective Cruz or JPP will be but Cruz and Beckham could cause a match up nightmare for teams. Their running game and pass protection can only get better when Beatty returns. JPP has the potential to give them somewhat of a pass rush which will also help their pass protection.

I dunno, I still don't think they're that good but those players returning can only improve what they have now.

My favorite posters/fans are the ones who can't deal with those that criticize the team and start posting things like how you aren't a real fan, why do you follow the team, etc.

Good stuff.

Its needed because you have the other posters who simply can't wait for this team to struggle so they can do the same ol' dog and pony show.

"I Told You So...."
"Garrett can't coach"
"Jerry is still running the show...."
"Tank"

Its ridiculous.

Fact: The Cowboys sucked at addressing the backup QB situation and they're paying for it now.

I don't think your lack of fear for a particular team is going to change anything, and it's certainly not going to help the QB position.

So why be doom and gloom when no one in this division scares anyone and we are a 1.5 games back? I get being a realist. I get it. Trust me I do. But why do it to the detriment of enjoying these games?

What was doom and gloom about what I said exactly?

Thats fine. You should probably just give up on the season and quit watching. Why are you here? This post isnt for the negitive nancy's like yourself. Its for people who dont give up when faced with adversity.

He's allowed to be here just as much as you are! Some people are half glass full people and some are half glass empty people. I don't think either way is wrong actually. People deal with things differently but that doesn't make them less as a fan as someone else. I mean we've lost 5 straight games so why be surprised or put off if some people are negative right now!

You're never going to have a fan base where 100% of the fans are feeling the same way. If one of those statements bother you just move on!

I wasn't talking about you specifically I was just speaking in regards to you saying his lack of fear won't change anything. It won't, but the reality is we are still in it W/L wise. Whether we are actually in it remains to be seen.

Your opinion is fine, we all have one, I'm simply stating that saying "They don't scare me" is a weird statement to make seeing as how we as fans don't play the game.

wierd to who? Its a figure of speech. something that happens here on the daily. Just because i say the "Patriots offense scares me", surely doesnt have any effect on how the defense plays does it?

I agree with that, I just always find it weird when fans say "They don't scare me" as if it matters if we fear other teams or not.

I suppose you're right. I guess i'm just wondering how do fans enjoy the games if they're busy being negative and doom and gloom. But I suppose you're right.

Well i'll say this. No one scares the Cowboys. Just look at how teams are playing offense against us. Just taking all underneath stuff and not risking any turnovers. Must be nice.

Sure hes allowed to be here. Just as i am. It was my post and he chose to reply in a negitive manner and i replyed. Today there are pages of negitivity. I chose to post how lucky were are that the Giants and Eagles not taken advantage of Romo being out. Some people only see the 5 losses which most happened to be very close game in which we gave the game away in turnovers. They fail to realize that the other teams in our division have some tough games ahead. The fact that we have played so poor and still have a chance should be inspiring knowing Romo is coming back soon.

Sorry, my glass is half full.

True, although either Jones or Church should have intercepted that ball that Wilson lofted up in the air. The secondary just cannot play the ball very well in the air.

You are correct. nobody is scared of the Cowboys with Weeden or Cassle at QB. That doesnt change the fact that we could still have a real good chance once (an even average) Romo is back. Then teams might be scared. both the Eagles and Giants missed a golden oppertunity to take a commanding lead of the division. You would think most Cowboy fans would see that as a positive.

I'm in agreement with you. These next two weeks can be big but they are going to have to do something they haven't done in 5 games......not only once but TWICE. They need to go 2-0 these next two weeks.

Yeah that was the INT they needed. This defense needed. To give them some momentum.

You mean Santa and the Easter Bunny are not real? No doubt we are neck deep in trouble. And i hope the players feel the same way and play with some urgency. But sitting at 2-5 we shouldnt even be in the running. It is what it is. We are in the same position as we were last week. Last week we were 1.5 games out and we lost and are still 1.5 games out. Considering we are another week closer to a Romo return gives me optimism.
