FB and LB are not the same position. They require a similar mentality, but the skills are different. At FB he doesn't have to chase down, fight through blocks and tackle people - the people he blocks are coming to him because he is in between them and the ball carrier.

In other words, being a good FB doesn't automatically translate into being a good LB, even for someone more experienced at LB.

So basically what you're saying is...you want to take a player whom isn't as good as two or three others at LB and start him because he "blows people up." At the same time, take away a player from the f-back postition, a primary blocking position in which we lack depth and any aggressiveness at.

I could not agree with you more. It would be nice to have a decent blocking FB for the first time since you know who. Keep him on Offense.
