He limits it in that way, but don't forget, he can make any throw on the field, and consistently if given time. That's something that you can't say about most mobile quarterbacks.

Dang dang dang... :)

I'm not talking about mobile QB's.

Dan Marino was not a mobile QB....but he could at least side step a rush and buy a second...heck, even Troy, until the very end had quick enough feet to buy time.

Bledsoe looks like a guy, in the dark, who got out of bed to use the bathroom and is feeling his way around the house without turning the light on and without stubbing his toe.

As far as making all the throw...he's got a great arm...a great deep arm...his short game is pretty average.

My point is pretty simple...the O-Line is awful...no question. But we have to place an extraordinary premium on pass protection because A)Bledsoe is a tree in the pocket and B) When he does get pressure he makes mistakes with the ball....not that other QB's don't but Bledsoe does it to extremes.

So even when the O-Line is improved, he's still going to limit the offense. The trade off is, does he bring an upside that will outweigh the limitations he puts on the game plan?

Mobile, or guys that stay in the pocket like Brad Johnson, Bledsoe can make throws that those guys can't, and that can open up the playbook if the o-line can give him time. I do understand the point you were making, I was just pointing out that he can open up the playbook in some ways just like he can mimimize it.

And it's strange, I don't know if you've noticed, but as the protection has gotten worse, Drew has moved less. In the early part of the season, he was avoiding one of two guys at times if they broke through the line. Now, he just stays in the same place, even by design. They aren't calling the roll out to the right play (even though I don't like it because you can bank on him throwing it to Keyshawn). It at least moves the pocket, and doesn't allow the d-line to key on Bledsoe being in the same spot on EVERY play. Maybe Parcells is afraid that Rivera will get shoved back into Bledsoe as soon as he starts to roll out.:)

Mick, I'm ready now to play the young guns. As Bledsoe gets older he's getting worse, not better. Sometimes you have to cut your loss's. I don't think we'll ever win a Superbowl with Bledsoe. Are we a better team this year with him ? Without a doubt...IMHO.

But being better and not having the talent to win it all is not what I am looking for. We have two kids, one was a star at Michigan, a topped ranked Div 1A school prospect...who in his last year and 8 games threw 18 TD's and only 4 INT's. That to me shows a lot of promise.

The other, well he just won the Walter Payton award for the best Div 1AA school player in the country.

Both of these guys has potential, like any top ranked QB coming out of college. No college QB is a sure thing, the only way you ever find out what they have is by playing them and letting them take their lumps.

The last 2 years BP has choosen 2 12 + year vetran QB's that have had good careers, never won the big games and are on the downside of their careers.

Can they win you games, sure...Will they take you to the promised land ? Not im my opinion. I really hope I'm proven wrong, but that is how I feel.

Our "D" is great and I feel will only get better with more experience and players returning from injury next year. Lets see what these young kids have so we can make an intelligent decision next Spring on the future of the QB situation here.

Yes sir!!!

You sound like me the day we signed Drew Bledsoe

But right now we are in the thick of things for a Wild Card berth and heck could still win our division with a little luck.

We have both agreed that Bledsoe is the best option, so why not stick with him until the Playoffs become out of reach and then stick the young guns in.

Funny thing is, me and you both know Henson or Romo wont see the light of day even when the playoffs are a distant memory. Never understood why he stuck with Vinny for so long when the Playoffs were out of reach.

Fact of the matter is, Parcells and Jones have tried the "cake and eat it too" method of rebuilding. Last year's roster reflected this philosophy.

We should have known that neither of them would have the patience to rebuild from scratch...like Jerry did when he and Johnson first took over the team.

Basically, they wasted the first two years (2003/2004)

This is the first year that the roster LOOKS like one of a team rebuilding...lots of young guys. In fact, with the pieces they added last year...if you just examined the FA signings, you'd think we were a team that was a piece or two away from a Super Bowl.

This season is year one of the rebuilding program...but the glaring contradiction is at QB... Parcells will never spend the time to bring a young QB along.

if we had a QB with ANY mobility, it would take a lot of pressure off the O-Line and also allow us to get more than two receivers into the secondary.

You mean like JP Losman of the 4-8 Bills, formerly the 9-3 Bills who were winning "despite Drew".

Drew is not perfect, but he is 16-8 in his last 24 games.

How did this become a discussion about JP Losman?

Here's my point....

Your opinion is that he does.

Cool.

My opinion is that he doesn't.

I'll be rooting my butt off to prove myself wrong.
