Justin Herbert signed

Nice to see a QB that has gotten a lot of postseason w...err, I mean, a lot of regular season wi.....err, I mean very nice statistics get paid what he's worth.

Good for you Justin, good for you.

So, 7 years 300 million including his 4th year and 5th year option

Qb market is dumb but he has put up historic passing numbers.

From espn,
"
He has passed for 14,089 yards, besting Andrew Luck for the most passing yards through a quarterbacks first three NFL seasons. He has completed 1,316 career passes, which also is the most in league history through a player's first three seasons. His 64 Total QBR is ranked fourth best in the NFL since his rookie season in 2020.

Herbert has thrown 94 career touchdowns, recording three consecutive seasons with at least 25 passing touchdowns - putting his name alongside Hall of Famer Peyton Manning's as the only quarterbacks to accomplish such feats at the outset of their careers."

Not saying he's worth it but the league has gone bananas with qb contracts so any qb with talent becomes the next highest paid guy.

Burrow can get 60m/yr but might take “less” so they can keep some players

Either way, the arms race continues

It’s funny…Dak didn’t deserve 40 million because he hadn’t won a playoff game and this guy gets 52 million because he throws a pretty spiral and no one will question it lol
Would you say Dak was a worse QB in 2019 even though he threw for 4900 yards and 30 TDs when they went 8-8? Because they won less than previous years he wasn’t playing as well?

I never said Herbert was worse or had a bad year but to answer your question no I wouldn’t say he’s worse.
