Justin Herbert

Hold an auction for #17 with Jerry as the auctioneer.

If Dak is franchised (one-year deal), & Herbert is available at 17, select Herbert.
Given the value of his position, his high ceiling as a player, & the value of a rookie contract for a QB, the selection of Herbert at 17 would be crafty and smart team decision.
And i bet he wouldn't hold out either. He would holdout with Cooper Rush behind him

No. Right now he’s more tools than finished product. He gives me Josh Alllen vibes and Dak is a better QB than Allen.

The only QB I’d draft over Dak is Joe. I’m not as high as others on Tua. I don’t like the size/durability and think he has a very average arm.

Herbert would have been the first pick last year. He is a better prospect then Danny Dimes or Haskins. I might trade up if he falls out the top 10.

I heard Herbert is talented but he is like Marcus Mariota, not much of a leader.Quiet, rather be a wallflower.

LOL yes you freakin' take him. The hell is up with these responses?
Because we have a QB for years to come and we need help, big time help, on the defense. DT ring a bell? How about a real safety? Maybe a CB? You don’t draft a backup in the first round what are you crazy?

I keep saying that Dak is a top 10 franchise QB, but I also think that Herbert can play at a Josh Allen level for a tenth of his cap hit.

Josh Allen is bad.

Tons of upside still, but he was bad last year.

The Bills still won 11 games last year even with a not so great Josh Allen. He's a lower-third kind of starting quarterback right now, but he isn't nonfunctional like say Trubisky.

If that's Herbert's worst case scenario, his best case is becoming a top 5 quarterback, and I save 20% of my cap either way, I'm taking that bet.

For everyone picking Herbert, have you seen this guy play in college and not rely on football analyst to tell you how to feel??

And If you have seen Herbert in action at Oregon, could you please post a link to a particular game where Herbert made you feel like "Now that's a franchise quarterback inthe NFL"

Ok, now do the schedule thing that everyone does to Dallas. Other than Dallas, the Bills didn't beat a good team except Tennessee before Tannehill took over.

Teams with "lower-third" QBs can't be expected to win consistently. It's a passing league, the idea that you can be a year-in, year-out contender by playing defense and running the football is expired.

I hated Josh Allen's tape at Wyoming too. Street-balling it, no idea how to read a defense, no touch, no accuracy, and this was against Mountain West opponents. Guess what I learned - the NFL is so rigged towards passing that a guy who literally doesn't even know how to play quarterback can make it in the league if he's mobile and can buy time.

Herbert's tape is concerning, but IMO it's better than Allen's was at Wyoming, and their physical skillset is pretty similar.

I wouldnt draft him in the first RD at all,has all the tools but is slow to process the play and he is worse than Josh Allen.

Oh really? And when did Dak sign his new deal?

That is why I wouldn’t sink all this money into Dak.. Quality QB play is easier then ever to find.

You take him and get cheap QB play with high upside for the next 5 years.

I agree. But that doesn't seem to be the direction the Cowboys are headed. Jerry seems to be determined to stick with this QB. Letting Byron walk leads me to believe they are trying to keep the high priced players to a minimum to make room for just that.
