The Jacksonville Jaguars currently have one of the ugliest quarterback situations in the NFL. With just two weeks to go until the regular season, Jaguars coach Doug Marrone still has no idea who his starting quarterback is going to be for the team's regular season opener on Sept. 10.

The job was supposed to go to Blake Bortles, but he's been so bad this preseason that Marrone is now giving Chad Henne a shot to win the job. Henne will be the team's starter for Thursday's game against Carolina.

So what happens if both quarterbacks look bad against the Panthers?

Well, it seems that Jaguars owner Shad Khan wouldn't be against signing Colin Kaepernick. Before the Jags' game against the Panthers, Mike Dempsey of WJXL radio in Jacksonville ran into Khan and asked him if he'd be "OK" with the Jaguars adding Kaepernick.

Khan's answer? "Absolutely."

I was thinking Jacksonville could be a match all along.

Really only two places where they would want him to compete to be the starter
NYJ and Jax

Besides the other non football stuff, look no further than that limited number of matches as to why he hasn't found a home.

Just for context...and nothing more.

Bortles (3 seasons in league)
4428 Best season yards
17 Best season TD to Int differential (35/18)

58.8 career comp rate
79.6 career QB rating

Kaepernick (6 season in league)
3369 Best season yards
12 Best season TD to Int differential (16/4)
59.8 career comp rate
88.8 career QB rating

Kap is better than Bortles, but that's not saying much. Regardless of your opinion on the national anthem situation, he is better than a few starting QBs and better than 90% of the backups. He should have a job.

Supposedly, Dallas was really interested in trading up to get him if he slipped a few spots.
And if not for the Cooper Rush phenomenon I'd be all over him if he was to be released. Now I'd rather roll with Rosh.

Better is a totality situation when looking at the possible face of a franchise. Is he good enough to start at some of the bad teams? Yes but you also have to look at how a bad team is treading water with fans. You have to ask if they bring in an OFF the field controversial figure how do they retain their base. It's not like TO or Ochocinco who left it all on the field. There has to be a undeniable upside like Vick was at the time. He doesn't have to possible upside that even Greg Hardy. He is a Ray Rice type controversial player that isn't worth the distraction because his play has diminished.
Just myvtake on it.

Once his pistol was figured out he couldn't do anything.

Let him play. He won't have success again. He isn't any good.

He did sell his 3-4 million dollar house in Cali,,,and buy a 3.5-4.5 million dollar house in N.Y. this off season,,,

Kaep is a clear upgrade in Jacksonville. When Chad Henne is competing for the #1 job, you know it's bad.

Bortles in the past, may of put up numbers, due to garbage time and having to throw the ball to try to get back into the game. He has regressed even more.
