Maybe, just maybe, one of Wentz or Goff will someday be a franchise QB.
Which one, if either, is not for sure known by anyone here.

So although I'm fine with Dallas grabbing one if he falls to us, for all any of us knows it may actually be a huge blessing if they don't.

As always, time will tell.

I sure hope that's the case. They would be throwing away 2016 and 2017 seasons making a move for Wentz.

Romo's guaranteed to play at a high level until he's 39 at full health? Otherwise it sets the team up greatly for his retirement/and or injury.

The picks it would take to move up to the first pick would keep the team from adding talent who can contribute right away. It would leave Romo's last few seasons as throw away seasons and it would leave Wentz playing with less talent around him when he took over.

Wentz would be taking over with a top OL and Dez as primaries; much better than most Qbs could wish for. There's nothing stopping the team from improving the D with picks 4-7 and trading Leary this year for an extra pick either. Next year, you have rds 2-7 to "help" the D along with FA. Wentz would be walking into a pretty dang good situation. Romo can win the East on his own if healthy no question (that's how bad it is and how good he is). Bosa, Ramsey, Buckner, etc. wouldn't help Tony get a ring either as rooks take time to contribute (for the most part). You can still pick up a good RB in the 4th if you have good scoutingo_O

Trading up for a QB once Romo retires will much more expensive from the mid to late first round...

The scenario I suggested is if San Francisco believes Dallas wants a QB at #4. If Dallas wants Goff then the 9ers would need to jump Dallas if they want Goff too. That also assumes Wentz is taken at #2 by the Browns.

Its not just about whether Dallas would pick a QB at #4, it is also about whether Dallas would trade out of #4 and someone might select a QB with the acquired pick.

It is an interesting scenario regarding the Chargers and Dallas. The Chargers can command more out of the 3rd pick, than we can with the 4th pick, but I never really considered the fact that that the Chargers and Dallas might get into a reverse bidding war for a team to move up with them. Very interesting dynamic.

Broncos just unloaded Ryan Clady's contract onto the Jets.

Might get things moving now.

I hope Wentz and Goff turn out better than RG3 and locker and Geno smith and EJ Manuel. I would be sad if we picked on and he turned out junky. And everyone else just points at you and laughs, " haha stupid"
