Kai Forbath

still on PUP....i think they have at least another week before they have to make a decision.

haven't heard anything about him kicking in practices so i wouldn't be surprised if they stick him on IR

They can still wait until the last eligible day to practice him. If he practices on that day then they have another three weeks before making a final decision.

Can he practice and still go on IR?

I agree that Bailey appears to be a great find, but I never take the kicking game lightly. After tonight's big game... ask Alabama and LSU how important a kicker is to their team.

So what? We already have our kicker anyway.

The kicker we have is not thought to be good enough to kick field goals and kickoff.

My understanding is Forbath may be able to do both adequately.

I also know that Bailey missed a lot of kicks in preseason. Perhaps it is a bit of a fluke how hot he has been to start his career.

If they were so convinced Bailey was the future, they could have released Forbath awhile ago from the PUP list.

If you aren't interested in the topic, there was no reason to respond. The question I asked was answered a long time ago and here you are needlessly lengthening the thread just to complain about its existence.

Yes. At least that's what I've read.

With the NFL calendar turning to Week 7 of the regular season, players placed on the "Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform" and "Reserve/Non-Football Injury" have a three-week window to return to practice. If a player does not return to practice during the current window, he will be placed on injured reserve.

Once a player on those lists returns to the practice field, a second three-week window opens up for the player to be added to the 53-man roster. Players not added to the 53-man roster by the end of that window are ineligible to play for the remainder of the season.

I'm not sure where you got this. Forbath didn't kickoff for UCLA.

I just wanted a simple answer to a question.

I agree with the general sentiment of the irritation of having too many kickers on the roster presently.

Eskimo...don't sweat it. One never has to apologize for asking a question. That is what questions are for, unless obviously for insult. Yours was legitimate. And responding on thread development, as of last week, the practice squad was:

CB Mario Butler
DT Robert Callaway
FB Shaun Chapas
WR Dwayne Harris
WR Andre Holmes
LB Orie Lemon
S Akwasi Owusu-Ansah
WR Teddy Williams

Cowboys should put him on IR and then he can compete in camp next year.
