Congrats! Hope your mom gets all kinds of goodies!
Titled: Hollywood has nothing on my Mom's storyHow about posting the winning essay here, so we can all see how it's done? After all, someday I might decide my mother deserves something!
she is a hero in my book and a super star .It is easy to say I will do this and that but to go and do it that something else just wow you have special mom God bless her.Titled: Hollywood has nothing on my Mom's story
I’ll keep it short and sweet:
My mom drove a school bus, substitute taught while going to school fulltime to be a teacher, while raising two sons. When she became a teacher, her first stop was James Madison High School where she was one of a very few white people tasked with teaching the worst of the worst math students. My mom became mom to many children in her years as a teacher, devoting her time during the summer to work with kids and take them on various field trips throughout. My mom was instrumental in keeping James Madison High Schools doors open in the 90’s through raising their TAAS testing scores. She then went on to teach these same types of kids at Desoto High School and was eventually promoted to principal and head of the math department in Lancaster School District.
To this day, she still teaches and devotes time to helping people. She is a member of Hilltop Church in Dallas, and devotes time to help and feed the homeless as well as assist drugs addicts in getting clean. Recently, when I called her to find out about what she would like to do on Mother’s day she was too busy, because she was at court trying to help a mother get custody of her child back. My mother never stops helping people and I cannot think of another person more deserving of a shopping spree than she.
She is very special...and unlike any person I have ever known. Her life has been devoted to serving others and as I said in the essay there is no one I know that is more deserving of this honor than she.she is a hero in my book and a super star .It is easy to say I will do this and that but to go and do it that something else just wow you have special mom God bless her.
I'm gonna show this to my mother, and take back her Mother's Day gift.Titled: Hollywood has nothing on my Mom's story

Neither can I.......... except for myself. I've done all that plus support a village in the Congo, get them to dump new math and New Coke and solved global warming by suggesting we turn the thermostat down to 70.Titled: Hollywood has nothing on my Mom's story

I dreamed of solving global warming and world hunger in one night once. I woke up with a hangover, soaking wet sheets and a half-eaten pillow.Neither can I.......... except for myself. I've done all that plus support a village in the Congo, get them to dump new math and New Coke and solved global warming by suggesting we turn the thermostat down to 70.
