Kearse or Mathieu?

Bryan Cook

Overview
Skilled enforcer with the size, toughness and instincts to put his stamp on the game in a variety of ways. Cook plays with the confidence and consistency of a pro safety and loves to run and hit. His blend of football intelligence, athleticism and physicality makes him an ideal fit for matchup-oriented defenses looking for versatile back-end chameleons. He can be used as an add-on run defender, match up on "F" tight ends or play on the back-end. Cook needs to answer questions about his speed and play with focus and leverage as an open-field tackler, but he's reliable and talented. He could become a good starter early in his career.

I see a lot of clamoring for Jayron to be back in the fold but what if they went a different route and signed tyrann FINALLY ?

tyrann is only 29 and has been the staple of top safety play for years.

curious to see everyone opinion on the matter.
We like our guys , for better or worse ! :banghead:

Kearse please. Same type player and bigger
Familiar with the system and will be cheaper
The ages aren’t much different but the miles are
Kearse just got his first real chance to play last year

The Chiefs ran out and quickly signed another safety for $10.5 million a year. That tells me that Mathieu’s demands far exceed that.

Bingo, no team begins having conversations with players on the first day of tampering. They have known him and his agent for years. They knew about their cap and they knew his price. There are no secrets or surprises.

Tyranny Mathieu of course
It's not close to me,imo. ..He's easily been one of the very best safeties in NFL the past years, and a bona fide turnover playmaker.
He's an All pro.

- The big question is gonna be Tyranny asking price as a UFA.
And the Cowboys i don't think, will like to be in a bidding war for big name high price, high dollar vet stud player.
They will play to the dollar term of their own players- not play to the demand of outside stud players.

- BTW, we blew the chance to sign Tyranny as an UFA when he left the Houston Texans, but we seem so set on Earl Thomas hype
and him being familiar with Kris Richard and supposedly a better scheme fit as traditional FS.

- Tyranny works best when he is schemed as a Rover type than a centerfielder and it's work out wonderful with Chiefs.
Will Chiefs be able to re-sign him even with their cap challenges , or he walks to the highest bidder.

- Kearse has only had this one good past year in 2021. Otherwise he's been a journeyman/special teams type.
Looks like he's became a gem in Quinn defense and the leader of the defense - per signal caller.
But we saw surprisingly solid play from a journeyman safety that played well vs run, ..blitzing. and coverage matchups.
And it's been dreadfully hard for us to find quality, consistent starting safeties
