Keep Eberflus or trade a pick to get your preferred DC.

Sign Trey Hendrickson or trade for Maxx Crosby.

Trade for DC? No way. This team desperately needs picks.

Sign TH.

Don't want Hendrickson.

Crosby would take too much.. we need like 7 players on D.

Here is the new 2020 rule for interviewing coordinators under contract or with another team. In other words, we may not have to trade a pick to make an offer to the defensive coordinator from another team.

  • Yes, an NFL defensive coordinator (DC) can interview for another coordinator position (offensive, defensive, or special teams) or a head coaching job, and their current team generally cannot block the interview for advancement roles, thanks to a 2020 rule change; however, teams can still block interviews for lateral moves (e.g., DC to another DC role without increased responsibility) unless it's a clear promotion. The key is a "bona fide" advancement in responsibility or title, allowing coordinators more freedom to move up, though strict timing rules apply during the season and playoffs.
    Key Rules & Nuances:
    • No Blocking for Advancement: Teams can't prevent their assistants (including coordinators) from interviewing for coordinator or head coach roles that represent a clear step up, notes Yahoo Sports.
    • Lateral Moves Can Be Blocked: If the new role is considered a lateral move (e.g., a DC moving to another DC role without added play-calling duties), the current team can deny permission, explains Reddit users.
BTW.......for me, sign Hendrickson and keep the picks ( easy choice)

if those are my only 2 options.
i'm keeping eberflus because we need the picks.
we need players.

the only def coord i would ever trade picks for was a young, brilliant football mind who coached for the ny giants:
tom landry.
and he's in heaven.

keep the picks.
draft talent over position.
and if that means flus stays, then so be it.
we keep firin' coaches round the ranch yet nothing changes.
because the one doing the firing is the same one doing the hiring.
