Which to me is BS, You still need the skills to get away from defenders and find the open man down field. Not only that he was able to beat two division rivals late in the 4th by effectively moving the chains. And let's not act like dak is well protected every time he steps back to throw which is another reason that statement annoys me
"he doesn't have to do much due to the running game and offensive line"
So that is a indirect way of saying he is a bus driver which is just a flat out dumb statement. Bus drivers don't win 7 games in a row and 4-0 on the road.
I think Jimmy Johnson said this on FOX yesterday that dak doesn't have to do much? What the hell is he talking about? lol
The Chiefs won 11 games in a row last year, including 5 on the road, with Alex Smith at QB. I can't think of anyone who embodies "bus driver" more than Alex Smith.
I really wish people would stop conflating QBs with teams. Is it really that hard to look at what a QB has actually done, rather than say, "he won the game, so he was great!"?
The biggest story here is that the Cowboys have built an offensive team that sets up a rookie QB for success. So many rookie QBs start playing for lousy teams with lousy coaching, lousy offensive lines and no skill position talent, and get ruined. David Carr is the prime example: he had no chance to succeed and no chance to develop because there was a jailbreak on every play. You put Tom Brady on those Houston teams, and not only would he have looked bad, he almost certainly wouldn't have developed the way he did.
Dak has already proven that he's a legitimate NFL starter. He's been put in a position by the Cowboys where he can be successful now, and has a great chance of reaching his ceiling. That's what's exciting here. And if he's not being asked to do "too much", that's only a good thing, for him and for the team.
