We used to be a team that liked to run the ball. Marion Barber was the definition of smash mouth football.
On defense Parcells prefered big bodies rather than speed and finesse (which made that bobby carpenter pick so surprising).
We started to get smaller players from smaller schools. We also got some players with some injury histories.
We're absolutely a finesse team on both offense and defense. And that needs to change.
We need to establish an identity running the ball. We're likely to be a finesse offense as long as we have Romo and Murray, but I think it is more important that we establish a tougher defense.
Eventually we're going to have to replace Morris Claiborne and probably Bruce Carter. Pretty Sure Durant and Sims are gone next year, as they're entirely too expensive for what they offer, but perhaps one of them will stay.
The entire defensive line needs to be redone as I keep saying. That will really change the tone.
I think Carr, Scandrick, Wilcox, and Church are all pretty physical and can excel here under the right circumstances.
