Love a thread where men are discussing how "ripped" another man looks and posting pics.

It's kinda creepy isnt it.

But, I think it's more an attitude.....we just aren't that "tough" when it counts....

No swagger. No "real" confidence......

Too many guys collecting a paycheck......not hungry. It's okay to be 8-8.

It's a systematic problem. Parcells had us where we needed to be.......but that's been gone for a long long time,,,,,

IDK but all I know is that we are gathering quite the collection of sweethearts on this team. And if you are drafting guys based on how many old ladies they sacrificed their bus seats for you end up with a soft team

i dont think that shocks anyone.

Yes because his 9-7 back to back season are "where we needed to be"

Well, if you haven't noticed , that's better then 8-8. Anybody with any insight , saw the change in attitude and the team and franchise getting better .....

Yeah parcells. That same parcells who won Super Bowls.....took two different teams to the Super Bowl and was inducted into the hall of fame......u know, THAT GUY.

lulz, thats a fantastic story. Heck Jerry has collected 3 Super Bowls since Parcells got those. When were those? In the 80's?

Yes, I do agree 9-7 is better than 8-8.

getting better? He had a year longer than JG and still was 34-30. Thats some strong stardards you hold coaches to.. But I dont think Ill join you in your hands across america for Parcells campaign. He was a good coach in NY and about a .500 coach after... Just like JG.

This is so ridiculous it's laughable. You're seeing what you want to see.

First off, physical appearance means little to nothing. Secondly, we have plenty of players who are ripped. Without scouring the roster I can say right off the bat Bruce Carter, Dez Bryant, Demarcus Ware, Tyron Smith, and DeMarco Murray are all looking pretty jacked for their respective positions.

You did read in my post where I said this means nothing, right?

What strikes me is this. I see football players for other football teams who are ripped up almost no body fat. I understand that doesn't mean much. But when was the last time you saw a Cowboy who was ripped up to to point it was ridiculous?

Right off the top of my head is Dez Bryant and Demarcus Ware.

We used to be a team that liked to run the ball. Marion Barber was the definition of smash mouth football.

On defense Parcells prefered big bodies rather than speed and finesse (which made that bobby carpenter pick so surprising).

We started to get smaller players from smaller schools. We also got some players with some injury histories.

We're absolutely a finesse team on both offense and defense. And that needs to change.

We need to establish an identity running the ball. We're likely to be a finesse offense as long as we have Romo and Murray, but I think it is more important that we establish a tougher defense.

Eventually we're going to have to replace Morris Claiborne and probably Bruce Carter. Pretty Sure Durant and Sims are gone next year, as they're entirely too expensive for what they offer, but perhaps one of them will stay.

The entire defensive line needs to be redone as I keep saying. That will really change the tone.

I think Carr, Scandrick, Wilcox, and Church are all pretty physical and can excel here under the right circumstances.

not trying to piss on your parade, but 9-7 wouldve been good enough to get us into the playoffs the last three seasons.

Interesting thread for me because yesterday watching the 49ers specifically the same thing occurred to me.

It's like everyone on that team is built like a fire hydrant except the QB and WRs -- the OLs, the ILBs, the Strong Safety, the RB, etc, etc

That team is just built differently than most other NFL teams.

Yes, you acknowledged that it means nothing, but then at the same time questioned when the last time the Cowboys had a "ripped" player was, as though it's something that's missing from the team. So I'm not sure what your point is. Either way, an abundance of examples of "ripped" Cowboys have shown up in this thread.
