All season I've been listening to the commentators say how physical the Seahawks, Ravens, 49ers, Panthers, etc are. That same theme has continued throughout the playoffs for 3 out of the 4 aforementioned teams. The Cowboys used to be one of those types of teams but it seems like they've become more of a finesse team. When did that change? My guess is when Parcells left but that's my opinion.

What strikes me is this. I see football players for other football teams who are ripped up almost no body fat. I understand that doesn't mean much. But when was the last time you saw a Cowboy who was ripped up to to point it was ridiculous?

I've thought this for a couple of years, I admit it could be a false narrative but it seems our players aren't as big and muscular on defense, offense is a different story.....

This is so ridiculous it's laughable. You're seeing what you want to see.

First off, physical appearance means little to nothing. Secondly, we have plenty of players who are ripped. Without scouring the roster I can say right off the bat Bruce Carter, Dez Bryant, Demarcus Ware, Tyron Smith, and DeMarco Murray are all looking pretty jacked for their respective positions.

Youre right it means next to nothing. Pittman, Brady Quinn and David Boston... all jacked up.

Heck, even Miles is ripped. His hamstrings are definately "ripped" lol

OP, I think there are some physical players on the team but (as far as defense) they cant make big hits running them down from behind. Chuck, Wilcox and even Heath will all play physical but arent in a position to that often.

I was talking about defensive guys as I stated and Ware and Bruce Carter do look good even on an NFL field but a lot of Cowboy defenders not so much, but really doesn't mean you can play or not

Even though those pics of him were from his time at USC and hes gained a fair amount of weight since then, he is incredibly lean for an offensive lineman.

Yeah I remember that pic during USC pro day (?) and he was only 20 @ 305. Freak athlete. Looks like a PF in the NBA and with the same athleticism. Cornerstone. I give JJ a ton of grief but he has been good in the top of the last 3 of 4 drafts (Claiborne still could turn it around).

Actually this thread was intended to discuss our style of play and not the players physiques.

So far from what I have seen I would go like this: Seahawks, 9'ers, Pats, Broncs. Would have to say that the Seahawks and the 9'ers are the most physical...we do not compare to either of those teams. I absolutely love the Seahawks defense...the only guy that I may substitute for one of their def players would be Lee...can't think of any others.

Will also throw out there just from watching Wilson at QB is that Manziel is going to be quite fine in the NFL...Just needs a supporttive coach like Carroll who will utilize his strengths.

Yeah, maybe Hatcher could start on that team too, but thats about it.

As far as Manziel I actually agree. I dont see why hes got so many doubters... His flaw are pretty obvious and Id think those would be addressed by the time he was thown into the fire.

I think it means more than you think it does. Look how all these physical teams play through injuries, and how much our guys are in street clothes...

Agreed, finesse and dumb is a bad combo.

Love a thread where men are discussing how "ripped" another man looks and posting pics.
