Jerry aims his contracts at the wrong positions. The question back is whether these fans that are (correctly) blaming Jerry would of paid Dak (and every other 'elite' contract).....because that's the strategic error around which every other issue/direction is made. Jerry's worst decision (along with an aversion to going ALL-IN), are those two Dak contracts...... AND AS DAK INSISTED ON TWO 4 YEAR CONTRACTS with NTC, they will always be linked as the subsequent need to restructure restricts spending in other areas.
Which is why Dak (ESPECIALLY DUE TO THE 4 YEAR AND NTC) compounds the Jerry issue.Jerry aims his contracts at the wrong positions.
The problem here is that Jerry is horrific at player evaluations. Dak is an OK QB, but he is not good enough to win a super bowl w/ a contract taking up over 25% of the available space. That is the part that Jerry is unable to consider, due to his extreme lack of football at the NFL level.
Absolutely. And it's on Jerry for mishandling it.Which is why Dak (ESPECIALLY DUE TO THE 4 YEAR AND NTC) compounds the Jerry issue.
Dak isn't OK, when seen through the prism of the contract. A career ending contract would absolve Dak to a certain degree, however, on the 4 year with the $40M added deferment (which helped us garner three 12-5 seasons).
Paying that high a CAP% for a QB that's not a difference maker IS Jerry's fault....but Dak pressed for the length of contract, so he's an integrel part of the problem.
