Keith Brooking...best leader at LB since???

Brooking is all what we had hoped Thomas would have been last year.
Exactly.

Dat was a great leader. Very little talent, very large heart.

Ken Norton Jr? Its no coincidence that as Brookings play has improved so has Cowboys. Some will say leadership is overrated but I have always felt its crucial to having a winning team.

Where do you get this leader thing?
Ware, if you don't know, is the heart of the LB's corp.

No amount of yelling or fist pumping makes Brooking a leader.
And, you know, Brooking had a good game, but he is over the hill, dude. He's done by next offseason.

Ware is the leader. Ware is the Million Dollar Man, to use the cliche.
Towel waver is what Brooking is.
So don't give me that garbage about him being a leader. Respect the pouch and respect what Ware is doing almost every game. Ware doesn't just yap, he produces and HE'S THE FUTURE.

Sorry, but it had to be said.

I'd say it's a fairly safe bet he wanted this game.

I also see Kenny Norton when I watch Brooking. Both are fiery, vocal and can play multiple LB positions due to their lateral quickness and toughness. And both wore/wear #51. :D

Loved Dat too (cerebral, tough, underrated), but Norton (and Brooking) had a way of rallying and inspiring the defense. Ware is a different type of leader, leader by example. Even Ware said that Brooking was a D leader (specifically mentioned himself, Brooking and Rat only).

A lot of people questioned if Dallas were to get Ray Lewis, whether or not Ray could lead the team. Brooking said he wasn't planning on being a team leader since he was just coming into the team, Lewis guaranteed that he would.

I think Brooking, a true leader, just couldn't help himself.

Why?

Because true leaders lead. That's what they do. Doesn't make a difference where they are playing, if the team is 0-16 or 16-0, they lead. That's why the whole 'Randy Moss is a great leader' that is spewed by the Patriots loving sports media is the biggest bunch of garbage to come across the pike. It's easy to be a leader when things are going good. But let's see you stick in there and be a leader when your team sucks.

There's no doubt in my mind that if Lewis had came here, he would've been true to his word and have been a leader on this team. Keith just couldn't help himself and has been fantastic on the field and a leader as well. Great pickup for this team.
