we never were able to get RayLu but what a steal we got with Brooking. He plays with that same intensity and fire and that has always been so lacking with our team for so long now....and for what we are paying him he is a real value
hope the team continues down the same path the rest of the way

p.s--I also don't think for a second we are going to be flat Sunday against the Eagles, I bet most players may see this game as redemption for what happened last Dec when we embarrased ourselves at the last game at Texas stadium

Love how the guy plays. It has to be rubbing off on the other players.

He has that fiery passion, leadership, kind of role going for him here. I do love that.

I think his play has dropped off a bit but he does bring the leadership we've been screaming for on the defensive side of the ball.

I think if we had gotten him 3-4 seasons ago, we'd surely have won a playoff game by now, probably more. Not so much because of his on-field play, but the intensity and leadership qualities he brings to the team.

Interesting analogy, I'm glad Ray Ray isn't here though. He annoys me...

You gotta love Brooking and what he's brought to the team, what a great signing by Wade and Jerry.

Same here. There is no way I could stand being on the same team with that dude.

Love Brooking and what he brings. Comparing him to Ray Lewis is a stretch. Don't agree with your premise that they are flat versus the Eagles. Not for anybody who was there in December and got their rear end handed to them, if they have an ounce of pride.

Brooking really is the "coach" on the field. Wish we had him 5 years ago.

Go find the tape of the kick off return the Raven's had this weekend. After the return Lewis was talking to the return man, and you could see the respect that is given when Lewis talks! That is leadership, and that is what we have / need from Brooking!

Here's a link... around 1:27 I believe...

The passion and intensity is alone is why Ray Lewis is worth every penny. Players feed off of that.

Brooking is way better than anything we have had here in a long time at MLB but he is not Ray Lewis. Just the next best thing that was available and for a hell of a price.

I don't think Brooking is a poor man's anything. He's been great.

No doubt he has. But Ray Lewis is one of if not the greatest MLB to ever play the game.

Brooking is not. Therefore, Brooking is a poor mans Ray Lewis. It's not a putdown on Brooking, it's just implying how great Ray Lewis has been/is.
