And this is the exact reason why I said he has transpired the defense, and made them great again. Wade deserves his credit, but there's no question Brooking is the reason we're where we're at right now with his fire and leadership.

Wade's coaching style allows the players to step up and be leaders assuming the player personnel is right. Once we got rid of the locker room viruses last year and brought in Brooking, Wade started not looking weak, and just looked like he allowed the team to be more in charge of themselves.

Brooking's a factor. Wade's a factor. Austin's a factor. Spencer's a factor. Jenkins is also a factor. Lack of injuries is a factor. Cutting TO is a factor.
Beuelor (sp?) is a factor. DeCamillus is a factor. etcetera, etcetera, etcetera

Saying it's just Brooking is just short sited.

He's a big part of the main.

By no means am I saying he's the only reason. We all know the emergence of Jenkins, Spencer, and others are just as important.

However, we all said from day one this offseason that the Dallas Cowboys needed leadership and fire.

Brooking has provided both of those, and we are seeing the results via the emergence of young players, the lack of blown assignments, and a focused defense.

Just my .02

I don't think we need to parse and allocate credit.

It's a team game where the weakest link makes the difference (because that's what teams attack).

Ware, Bradie, Brooking, Newman, Jenkins, Rat and Spence have been great.
But Scandrick, Bull, Ellis, Carp, Sensabaugh, Hamlin have been up there too.

i think it's the players and the scheme making them better, not any type of leadership. brooking telling them they will bloody their nose won't make them play better.

Agreed, but anyone comparing Wade to Switzer is ignorant to the reality of the two personalities.

After reading "Boys will be Boys", I came out of it with a less positive view of Switzer for sure.

If you ask me, it's smart the way Wade chooses to control the team. Brooking's not here by accident. What's the difference how it works, as long as it works? Brooking gets credit now, that Wade would otherwise be getting. Big deal. It doesn't seem to bother Wade. In fact it looks like it was Wade's idea.

You can accomplish team goals when your ego doesn't get in the way. So Wade didn't feed his ego. He ends up getting the credit in the long run, if that matters.

Brooking is that dude, but it takes everybody doing their part for a defense to function at a high level. You can say without Brooking we wouldn't have leadership. Well, without Ware we would be asking for a pass rusher. Without Jenkins we would be asking for a ball hawk corner. Without Ratliff we would be asking for a good nose tackle. So on and so on. People need to stop acting like Brooking is the "key" to the defense because he isn't. The thing is, everybody is doing what they need to do right now and it's a beautiful thing. No need to say who is the "key". Because as soon as Ware has a game where he doesn't get any pressure on the qb we will see how far Brookings leadership gets us.

Brooking turned out to be one of the better moves this season. To me only does removing the trash from last year surpass this signing.

Props to Phillips for this move. Props to Stephen Jones for getting in daddy's ears.
