Loved his post game comments basically saying we stomped on their throats, slapped them around and treated them like garbage, not in those words exactly, but I like people who just tell it like it is.

Brooking is becoming one of my favorite players.
The man has heart and is a legitimate good dude.

I don't get the Brooking love today - what exactly did he do yesterday? Not to be down on the guy, he's had a couple nice games, but other than doing the bird flap thing, which in and of itself ain't so hot a move, what did he do? He made fewer tackles than Barbara Carpenter for crying out loud...

the fact that ATL never got going on the ground could explain his lack of stats

It's too bad you didn't get to watch the game and only saw the highlights on ESPN and read the statsheet or you would have seen Brooking firing the team up, particularly the defense. They definitely responded to him too as shown by how well they played after that first drive by the Falcons.
Of course, it was Brooking who was responsible for the defense playing better - it couldn't be ANYTHING else. "As shown" - post hoc ergo prompter hoc. Man, this joint is packed with folks on the shallow incline of the IQ slope.
Maybe you also didn't notice that he is our leading tackler on the season. Just guessing of course...
Roll your mascaraed eyelashes elsewhere, clown.

The guy had a whole TWO tackles that I doubt you even remember. If the sweet smell of his jock is what gets you frisky, so be it, but I don't give out bonus points for being a hype man, which apparently is what you were looking for out of your ILB yesterday.

Where was his big play? Like I said, I am not down on the guy AT ALL, but I've heard bird flapping and post game comments and getting caught up in the blitz - THAT is what fans around these parts go gaga for these days?

I can see someone touting Romo's game, or Austins, or Ware, or even Patrick freakin Crayton, but Brooking just played a part out there man. Let's save praise for praiseworthy performances.

And just so I am clear, I agree absolutely with the above - he's a great guy and he's been a pleasant surprise here, especially after recent experiments with aging veteran players, ahem, I am talking to you Zach Thomas. And to extend, he's a Wade guy, so good on Wade for that too.

Just not sure why some are throwing the guy a party for yesterday...

As for Brooking...man. What a pickup. I can honestly say this is the best FA pick up we've had, outside of Bigg, in probably 10 years.

Last 10 years?

He's played in only 6 games for crying out loud!

In reality, this is closer to the truth IMO...

1. LaRoi Glover
2. Leonard Davis
3. Marc Colombo
4. Terrell Owens
5. Terry Glenn
6. Kyle Kosier
7. Anthony Henry
8. Keith Brookings/Gerald Sensabaugh (tied so far)
9. Ken Hamlin
10. Aaron Glenn

Leadership is what he brings that we haven't seen on this team in a very long time.

Thing is there are many thing you do that do not show up on stat sheet. filling holes and making the back alter his direction, forcing the QB out of the pocket into the arms of the OLB or coving a man where the QB does not have that player to throw to. Brooking seldom is out of position and when the plays come at him he makes them. Last thing you need is a player acting like a dog chasing cars you want him where he is suppose to be taking on the responsbilities that need to be done and sometimes those things do not show up on stats

I think Venger needs stats to tell if someone is doing a good job and not if they are being targeted and double teamed or just flat out telling this defense to get off their butts and make a play.

This guy is always doing something on the defense, his motor is always going, and his attitude is about the team and his teammates, hes trying hard to dig into the team and make a niche for himself and with the fans. He comes out hard and plays his best every game and so far i have not seen one game where he has just giving up on a play.

He is bringing attitude, his making the defense stand up and he knows what Wade wants and what to expect, he is a 1 man wrecking crew whose dead set on seeing this team succeed instead of picking up a pay check.

THATS A PLAYER YOU WANT ON THE TEAM.
