He's the hard nose player of our defense. With his helmet off and with the way he plays the game, every time I see him I think he resembles Rocky Balboa. What do you guys think?

Well, I've been more inspired by his play on the field. He has provided a spark for the defense, and I think we can all agree that the defense has improved since the ATL game, and still hasn't peaked yet.

How many highlights have we seen as of late of our corners and safeties getting burned deep? How many with d-linemen taking wrong angles and being out of position?

That is the difference this year, and Brooking is a huge part of it.

Sensabaugh, Brooking, Olshansky, Jenkins, Scandrick, Spencer. Some insightful changes by Wade to the defense Parcells built is making for much improved play. Too early to tell especially with the teams we've played but they haven't seemed to miss Hamlin too much so far.

He's a leader and exactly what this team team needs.

His level of intensity and play sorta remind me of what Teddy Bruschi (sp?) brought to the Patriots a few years back. We've been looking for one of those for awhile. Thought it might have been Zack last year, but he was just worn out and the fire had turned into a cinder. Brooking still has gas in the tank, and not just fumes. One of the best off season pick-ups in quite awhile.

To me, hes the one that started to change the locker room attitude right when they brought him in, his winning attitude and team first principles have the other players buying in and being leaders as well. Hes right what the dr. ordered.

BP was heard to mutter a couple of times about stupid players. That is something you find out about the hard way usually. I am thinking that Wade has been weeding out the dumb ones slowly but steadily. At least on Defense. Unfortunately on offense.....

I loved the Brooking signing when it happened. He's a much better fit than Zach Thomas.

I freakin love this guy being on the Cowboys, every single time he tackles he is 'bringin da lumba'.
I know he inspires everyone around him, hell he makes me want to hit someone. :D

Canty has been a BUST in NY. Just read their boards.. it's funny. We made some pretty decent moves in the offseason considering Canty, Igor Brooking letting Ellis go etc.

Oh and Brooking, love that guy on the team too lol. You know he isn't the biggest, strongest or fastest LB but when he meets a RB in the hole, it stops there. Can't match the guy's heart.

Me too!!! Every time I see him getting all pumped up, either on the field or on the sidelines, my adrenaline starts flowing and I just want to get in the game and waste someone!

I think a very strong case could be made that he is our MVP this year due to the impact he has had on our defense, both as a player and as a leader. The guy was supposed t be "over the hill" but he is our leading tackler so far this season.

I wanted this guy in the 1998 draft (we took Ellis instead) and I am happy that we finally got him. :starspin

I'd take a guy with his heart over the stronger or faster LBs any day. At least we know he'll give it 100% every time he sets foot on the field.

Brooking's impact is reminiscent of the guy in your sig. I know they play different positions, but they were both brought in to help a young defense get over the hump. I'm not saying that Brooking will lead us to 3 out of 4, but he has blostered this D much like Haley did back in the 90s.

I am quite surprised about how quick Brooking really is. He does not appear to be that slow to me. It could be an illusion due to his high football IQ and sniffing out the play very fast.

He brings a lot to this defense.

What do you guys think of the Rocky Balboa comparison. He's tough like Balboa and whatever he doesnt have in talent he makes up with heart like Rocky.

today a caller on The Fan said that "Brooking sucks and is a loser and always has been...in college and pros......and that he is a liability"......\\

I was like..........

I like the signing when it happened, but i never thought hed become one of my favorites so quickly

If Brooking goes after someone he's gonna make the tackle.

It's a shame we drafted that crybaby instead of him otherwise we would have had this since '98.
