Keith Brooking

I don’t care for the Rocky comparison. Rocky is a fictional character played by a mediocre actor and a cheesy plot.

I'd take a guy with his heart over the stronger or faster LBs any day. At least we know he'll give it 100% every time he sets foot on the field.

Here's a funny thought: Barbie is definitely faster and stronger.

However if I absolutely needed a play made...if the game is on the line...I want Brooking in there over Carpenter.

Then again I'd probably put my seventeen year-old daughter in over Carpenter.

He's the Mad Backer baby! This guy plays football the way it's suppose to be played. One of the best FA signings in a long long time.

If Brooking goes after someone he's gonna make the tackle.

It's a shame we drafted that crybaby instead of him otherwise we would have had this since '98.

I was praying that we would take Brooking in 1998 and when we passed on him to take Ellis I was disappointed but not too much as Ellis was a good pass rusher in college. I was really just hoping we would pass on Moss and we did.

That said, I don't think Brooking would be the kind of leader he is today if he had not played with Jesse Tuggle for a number of years. Tuggle was one of the best LBs no one ever heard of. The guy was an amazing player on some lousy Falcons teams and an outstanding leader who taught Brooking what it meant to play the game the right way.

I don't believe we had a guy like that on our team in 1998. Maybe Woodson but he wasn't a very vocal leader, so I don't think Brooking would be the leader he is today without Tuggle mentoring him.

I am just VERY happy to finally have Keith Brooking in a Cowboys uniform! :starspin

As for passing on Moss, it was the right move in 1998 but I was hoping we would trade for him in 2007 when he was available cheap. I would much rather have had Moss than Owens.

I hope Brooking spreads this to all of our younger lbers(Williams, Williams, kid from TCU(name passes over me), Spencer, etc.

Remember the play Brooking made in KC on 3rd down where he hurdled the blocker at full speed and made the tackle out near the edge? That, was heart.
