Kellen Moore has a blind spot. running the ball

Very true, should of pounded them with the running game, but how do we know Dak didn’t change some of the plays from run to pass?

Obviously we don't know.. but I would bet a month's salary that those plays when we came out of the huddle in empty backfield there was no run to change out of..

I have been screaming this since he took over. He simply has no feel for how to use the running game to settle things down when the wheels are coming off. He does not understand that 2nd and 6 is better than 2nd and 10 or 2nd and 13 when your line is not pass blocking worth a damn. He fails to acknowledge when they are overmatched and adjust accordingly. The absolute BEST way to slow down a pass rush is to let the offensive line fire out into the d-line and take some of the starch out of it. Not keep dropping back and saying "Hail Mary don't let Dak get killed." Yesterday's game never got to more than two scores difference and the running game was averaging at least 4 yards a pop.. Yet we went 50 pass 16 run.. Friggin three to one ratio!!! Moore seems to have forgotten that when this offense was rolling it was closer to 50/50. I am discouraged by this because I honestly thought that the three game stretch when we killed people by being balanced he had figured it out. But these last 4 games show me he hasn't.. and if he hasn't by now.. he probably never will. Somebody needs to hire him as head coach somewhere.. Soon.
a lot was his lack of confidence in the OL opening holes and zeke missing for what 3-4 series and limping??not all moore its the players lack of execution more then coaching this season in the losses goes squarely on players..

I agree we need more running that 6 game win streak we did that week and rally the run game won 4 of those games..some how the blocking an or coaches lack of confidence has had them go away from it as defenses are trying hard to stop the run..

Yeah Coop is maybe the best in the league at winning quickly off the line .. Without him in there it was obvious none of the other guys were presenting a good target on the hot routes. That's why Dak had to bail out so many times or get swallowed up by the rush.. Having to go with less experienced receivers in that environment was a huge handicap for sure. They did not do the QB any favors by not making the adjustment on the fly that you have to make in those situations.

Yeah. Cooper would’ve helped. I’d just like to see a 40 million dollar player to make a play.

He was a weakness just like everything else yesterday. Yesterday was classic Dak and not 2021 Dak.

That's pretty simple, Cooper back.

What if Cooper doesn’t play or has one of his road game disappearing acts?

At some point we need to stop pointing the finger and everyone and ask our QB to go make a play. Figure it out.

QBs are sometimes surrounded by chaos and they need to bail their team out. Dak wasn’t an answer at any point yesterday.. He was part of the problem.

No question he did not have a great game.. He looked uncomfortable.. almost like he fighting through some pain a lot of times. I really don't understand why he didn't recognize after the first couple of series that the wind was affecting the ball. KC has the most bombs away offense in the NFL and they didn't even try to challenge that wind on anything too far down the field. They understood the conditions.. we didn't. You would think that Dak and Moore would have had conversations on the sidelines about it.. "Hey man take the short and intermediate stuff if it's there.. The ball is going all over the place when you throw it deep.. That wind aint ***** around.." We had those conversations when I was playing.. Do pros just think their arm is strong that the wind can be ignored?

Make what play? He hit guys in the hands on at least 6 passes and they ended up being drops.. Should Dak have run down and handed it to them instead? Dak was far from great yesterday but the willingness to ignore the fact that he DID "make a play" on several occasions and got no help weakens your point..

Preach........but this board will blame Zeke and the call for Pollard. As for the KMoore HC future........somewhere else would be fine, just fine.

Dak needed to play better. I'm one of those that feels Cooper influences the game just by stepping on the field.

The running backs averaged over 4 ypc yesterday.. even if you take out the 31 yarder on the gadget play they were still over 3.5. If you run that "unsuccessful running play" 3 times in a row you move the chains. Sorry but people get too caught up in the whole "the running game was getting stuffed" narrative.. No it wasn't.. Was it running wild? Absolutely not.. but it was getting positive yards more often than not.. And every time we ran it did two things.. it let our linemen actually hit the d linemen and it kept our QB from getting hit.. That's a win win even if the yards are meager.
I don't care what you say, it wasn't working and when we needed to catch up. the run game wasn't helping. KC did a good job of stopping us. The O line was awful.

I mostly agree here, but when the Cowboys have run the ball on first down it often hasn't yielded much. I think they need to do a better job mixing up the type of running plays called. They seem to run it into the center of the D most often, and outside of Martin our interior linemen aren't great run blockers. Spread out the D a little with a toss or Rb sweep. Maybe that's not Elliott's game as much, but throw Pollard in there with Elliott as the FB.

Maybe you didn't read my post.. We had at least 4 times when we gained at LEAST 4 yards on a first down run.. and did not run on 2nd down either time.. Not once.. We never TRIED to establish the run.. We did not make the effort.. Period.. I am not going to sit here and declare we would have won if only we'd run it 30 times.. But I do know that NO defensive line wants to face 30 running plays.. NO defensive line wants to face one of those drives where you run at them 5,6, 7 times in a row.. And against us.. they never have to.. No matter how much we gain on first down.. the next play is GOING to be a pass. And I don't think we can win consistently that way.. Our line does not pass block well enough to drop back 50 times a game..

And you are correct that the type of running plays we run lacks any variation. We only run wide on the jet sweeps and gadget plays no matter which back is in and we almost never run off tackle. Now some of that may be because our tight ends stink at blocking.. Schultz almost got the receivers killed with his whiffs on the WR screen several times yesterday. I think we should go ahead and concede that none of our tight ends can block in space.. and quit calling plays that ask them to.

WOULD YOU WANT TO RUN THE BALL WITH A PERSON that's not getting you any yards #21

WOULD YOU WANT TO RUN THE BALL WITH A PERSON that's not getting you any yards #21

First of all he averaged 3.6 ypc which could be considered a minor miracle as bad as the blocking was.. Secondly.. if you don't want to run #21 then run Pollard.. who aside from the nice 31 yard trick play (where Zeke cleared the way for him) averaged 3.1 ypc on traditional running plays.. And yes.. 3.5 ypc is enough to keep running the ball as long as the game does not get out of hand. You have to remain patient.. Take a few bunt singles before swinging for the fences. We didn't and it cost us..

Make a play that elite 40 million dollar elite QBs make when the chips are down. That one.

Instead we’re all complaining about not taking the game out of Dak’s hands and putting it in Zeke’s.

I'm torn on this because they werent exactly tearing it up throwing the ball either. I understand the why behind throwing it so much given the fronts KC was showing....but the results just weren't there. Seems like running the ball more is the easy answer, but it also feels like thats a simple answer in a more complex problem.
You are right they weren't throwing but any chance we have of coming back down 13 was going to be threw the air. Maybe I'm just looking at it from a different eye. I see them run it and then 2nd and 5th comes around I just feel like you should get those 5 yards more times than not.

If the receivers are not getting open and not catching the ball when they do.. what choice do you have? And miss me with that "40 million dollar elite QB" nonsense.. Go ahead and point the undefeated 40 million dollar elite QBs out and I will declare them better than Dak.

I'll wait..

Id really love to see them use daks legs more to keep the defense honest. It’s worked so well
I’m the past. I get keeping him healthy but it has to be part of daks game… it opens up stuff for others when he’s a duel threat.
