Kellen Moore wanted out of Dallas

Nobody loves the Cowboys more than me. But I'm a fan and I have trouble rooting for them anymore. So I'd just imagine how hard it must be for a coach. And the one constant that makes it harder both ways is Jerry Clown Jones

He was fired. Mutual agreement to save face for both sides as they knew it would be more controversial to fans and media than some assistant coach.

It’s possible, but I think the reports that he and the team mutually agreed to part ways makes sense. I still think Jerry wanted to give it one more season with him, but with changes and he didn’t like them. He’s been receiving a lot of heat from the fans and some in the media and I think his play-calling duties were going to be taken away from him. McCarthy was asked during the season on more than one occasion if he would take over play-calling. It’s been reported that he may be calling plays next season. I don’t believe Moore liked the changes to his role and wanted an opportunity elsewhere.
