If the team came back as is, it wasn't going anywhere. MM may not be an upgrade but if not, it eliminates all cover for both Dak and MM.

Either this works or we are about 1 year away from a clean slate*. Kind of win-win in my book.

*As long as Jerry doesn't give Dak a massive extension.

Side note: Dak is sitting at home or wherever with the full knowledge that he got Moore fired.

If the net change of this is Kellen Moore going out the door, and Brian Schottenheimer becoming the offensive coordinator, the Cowboys are not better than they were yesterday. Schottenheimer is a brutal offensive coordinator.

There's a lot of coaching turnover this offseason. Unless there's some assurance that McCarthy is here beyond 2023 (meaning he signs an extension), I can't see them adding a lot of quality for the current vacancies. Who of value would want to come on board for a head coach who could be gone in a year?
