it will be interesting to see who hires him and for what job. He has no ties to any staff as a coach. As a player a few of his former coaches are OC's like Todd Downing and Joe Lombardi. It would be odd for the coordinator of a top 5 offense to not have a job the next season and it will be interesting to see if he would take a qb coach job somewhere for a year. Winning with the backup is probably a really strong factor on his side.

If the net change of this is Kellen Moore going out the door, and Brian Schottenheimer becoming the offensive coordinator, the Cowboys are not better than they were yesterday. Schottenheimer is a brutal offensive coordinator.

There's a lot of coaching turnover this offseason. Unless there's some assurance that McCarthy is here beyond 2023 (meaning he signs an extension), I can't see them adding a lot of quality for the current vacancies. Who of value would want to come on board for a head coach who could be gone in a year?

Exactly.. it’s clear folks have no clue what they are wishing for if B. Schottenheimer takes the reigns.. the offense just got that much worse. The fact that Philbin isn’t here either, meaning lack of consistency on OL, everything is suspect.

Not a single poster on here can even put into words what was wrong with the plays called, they aren't educated enough on schemes or plays in general. The moment the offense doesn't put the arbitrary yards/points they have in their head, the next OC will be on the chopping block.
