The Tampa Bay Buccaneers extended the contract of their newest acquisition, Kellen Winslow Jr., by giving him the biggest contract for a tight end in NFL history.

Kellen Winslow speaks to the media after being traded from Cleveland to Tampa Bay.

Winslow, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, agreed to a six-year, $36.1 million deal that includes $20.1 million in guarantees. With incentives, the deal could grow to $42.1 million.

The Bucs acquired Winslow in a trade with the Cleveland Browns last month. He was the sixth pick in the 2004 draft, rated as one of the best tight ends to go from college to the pros. His knee was damaged severely in a 2005 motorcycle accident, but after his recover, Winslow re-established himself as one of the league's top tight ends."

Umm are you sure? WInslow needs to be arrested!! Because he is stealing the Bucs money!..He is by far the most overrated player in the NFL..More than Bob Sanders!:lmao2:

Bucs are like a gajillion under the cap. Does the NFL have a minimum amount that must be spent?

I think he'll be the top TE in a year or 2.

Doesn't mean you have to go around spending it on useless players.

Maybe as a receiver, but he can't touch Witten as the best overall.

Witten is my second favorite player to watch on this team, but you can't stay on top forever.

Somewhere, as I type, Witten is laughing all the way to his next contract extension.

He's only like 27? He's got a few more years at the top before people can even speculate that his skills are declining. Look at Tony Gonzalez, he may have slipped but he's still playing at a high level.

Winslow will never be able to do the blocking that Witten does.

Wow...I guess we'll be seeing Witten getting some sort of new deal in the next year or so to put him above that.

I think he's still 26..He was drafted when he was 20 I believe..

When did Witten last sign on a contract? and for how much? I'm sure he's extremely underpaid.

This move makes no sense to me. This team could have drafted a solid TE with its eyes closed this year. Plus, he has knee issues.
