whoever brought up all the money the Bucs had was probably on point, they have to spend that money, might as well keep a potential malcontent happy with some of it
I never said Witten's skills would decline, I said Winslow will be better in a couple of years.Future;2719322 said:He's only like 27? He's got a few more years at the top before people can even speculate that his skills are declining. Look at Tony Gonzalez, he may have slipped but he's still playing at a high level.
Winslow will never be able to do the blocking that Witten does.

7/22/2006: Signed a six-year, $29 million contract extension through 2012. The deal included a $6 million signing bonus and a $6 million option bonus in the second year. 2009: $2.5 million, 2010: $2.641 million, 2011: $3.391 million, 2012: $3.641 million, 2013: Free Agent. Cap charges: $3.5 million (2009), $3.641 million (2010), $4.391 million (2011), $4.641 million (2012).

per rotoworld
so basically he got 12 mil guaranteed. I wouldn't worry about Witten's deal for another two years.
The motorcycle accident ruined him with a lot of people, and deservedly so. He's essentially missed half his career with injury. With that history, it's hard to put him in the upper echelon of anything.TheCount;2719579 said:Witten's numbers aren't that far off, especially since it was signed 3 years ago and his entire contract was as good as guaranteed.
Winslow is a very good TE, not sure why all the hate. He was injured last year and is a knucklehead but on the field, when healthy, he's very good.
