Kelvin Joseph has been unimpressive

Lol @ this thread.

With Rookies I’d wait at least until Thanksgiving before proclaiming they suck.

They’ve been in training camp for a month. These dudes are worn out and ready for a break before the season starts. On top of that they are learning something new and going against guys at the highest level.

At least wait until November.

Rookies used to get 3 years. Now they get 3 preseason games. I want him off the team by Monday morning, and I want him to refund his rookie contract to Jerry Jones personally.

I think as you get closer to the regular season the rookies act more like rookies.

As far as training camp goes, my expectation is that all the DB's look less competent when you consider who they are practicing against. That's especially true for rookies projected to have an impact. They are going up against 1st team players in the preseason games and throughout training camp.

Just as an example, let's say that Joseph faces Cooper and Lamb on a daily basis while Wright faces rookie free agents trying to catch passes from Dinucci. Under such a scenario, who would struggle the most?

Well, they are both being picked on now and they better get used to it. As soon as they appear on the field in a regular season game I guarantee their opponents will be aware of it.

The line-up against the Jaguars played a fair role. They were also missing some players but had 2nd round Walker Little at LT and starter Jawaan Taylor at RT who make a big difference, both played pretty well. On the other hand our front seven was Carter, Hamilton, Bohanna, Anea, Cox, and Gifford. So it doesn't come as surprise that Lawrence had a clean pocket to work with and plenty of time. That put Wright/Joseph up against it.

But I agree that Joseph/Wright are going to see a jump in the quality of opposition and it's not really a surprise to see them struggle. Guys like Pahroah Cooper, Shenault Jr, Kirk, and Claypool are solid pros and much better than most of the opponents they faced in training camp.

He has been really unimpressive in the preseason games. Hopefully he can improve but so far he looks pretty bad for a 3rd round pick.

Jesus. He's looked like a rookie. Just like Diggs did last year. He's a ROOKIE.

This site man....they'll build you up to be the next star just to tear you down before the 1st regular season game lol. Just wow.

When y'all were hyping him up you guys should've took a step back and realized he didn't have much of a college career and needs more experience.
Its also worth noting that Joseph has been getting work against some actual quality receivers and not just guys off the street btw.
Wait until Parsons misses a tackle and Collins makes a play for Arizona. This site will explode.:eek:

The Bossman is 20 years old let’s see what happens as the season progresses. Playing cornerback with 3rd stringers rushing the passer against the number 1 pick in the draft is a tough task.:omg:

I can't tell what's worse, labeling rookies before September or the narcissism that gets worse on here each year.

Just another in a long, long line of "Looks like Tarzan & plays like Jane"...

People do realize rookies take time to develop, right? Even Travis Frederick, Jason Witten and Zack Martin weren't amazing players before they even played a regular season snap.

That's not saying much even the entire defense was garbage. Did you not watch Diggs get destroyed last year? Sure he got better and even made some plays but he was far from a shut down corner or a really great corner.

You are one these fans that focuses in on the bad plays and that's all you remember. Overall, he was really good particularly considering he was a rookie that got no training camp.

Yep you're right. Im one of the most negative guys on here just always posting the bad plays....

The Dallas should have a good idea by now who to cut and who not to cut. The multitude of mistakes that were made by our young candidates weren't exactly in the rare category. This surely isn't the first time that the Cowboys have had horrendous showings in their past preseason outings. The film studies should reveal exactly what's needed to improve this needy roster.

Hopefully, the moves that are required will be attended to and the roster might benefit from it to at least some extent. The staff has their work cut out for them. Hopefully, some much-needed changes will be attended to in the weeks ahead. Keep posted and let's see if we'll attend to business. There's no shortage of changes to be made, without a doubt. There'll be time to improve before the regular season starts.

3 weeks ago: Joseph vs the Steelers

Joseph plays well half the time but also gets beat other times. Very raw.

He’s a rookie. Wrs do catch passes against corners.

Nashon Wright outplayed Joseph the entire pre season . So it’s Anthony Brown and Diggs starting in Tampa right ? Wright Jourdan Lewis and Cannady to round things out with Joseph possibly IR ?

I think they have both looked like solid rookies. Joseph not going on IR.

Now he is dealing with a pesky groin injury. I don't think he'll be impressing anyone any time soon.

groin injuries keep the player from playing both fast and twit
Im starting to think Joseph is just another Chido Awuzie a decent pick but just a JAG

Fuzzee --oh man i was hoping Joseph was going to be that lock down corner that comes in rounds after round 1.....i heard he was better than those 2 or 3 in round 1 by some early on....but maybe secretly he has had groin problem a long time?.....if not....the cowboy curse for round 2 hits again...except last year we got Diggs in Rd 2?....i hate being depressed like this before season starts.....then i will go bi-polar and go on some manic thing and start tossing out Plats left and right that go in the toilet...come on cowboys....you cowboys can lead us fans into mental disorders...hahaha
