Kendrick Lamar to perform halftime show - Super Bowl LIX. New Orleans

Clueless. What a waste of time and another halftime show I'll skip. Appealing to the minority just to be hip and cool. Guarantee you 90% of the fans between 30-90 do not listen to that trash music.

The only reason I'm back this year is to see Dak fail again and rub it in to all the Dak homers.

He will always select the same artists/genre of music.
As he has proven since being in charge of it.
Good grief. You try so hard to make something else out of a comment.
Lol so the problem is with hip hop. Got it

You’re 52…you have nothing bette to do? Respectfully?

...every single year. Yes.
Variety and main stream are keys to appeasing
100,000 people. But you go ahead and think what you want.
But usher and Rihanna are not hip hop artists and they have performed recently..they are r&b.

You said hip-hop. Not me.
I figured you knew what you were talking about.
Separately, I really miss Motown. Not sure if you're
old enough to know what that is.

You can't be a fan of r&b and not know what motown is. I'm a fan of all music, old & new including heavy metal. So that's why comments that imply that a certain type of music being played at halftime is a bad thing bother me.

If Metallica or Smokey Robinson were performing, I'd still watch and enjoy

You kind of made my point.
What I'm saying is it's SAME every year!
I'd love to see Metallica or Smokey Robinson perform at the SB halftime. To me, Prince was the best halftime show of all time.
With Jay-Z calling the shots, only one genre has been featured. The LA SB was understandable. Time to mix it up.

I haven't bothered to watch any SB Halftimes live for a number of years now.

That’s awesome. He’s one of the best guys to ever do it.

To Pimp a Butterfly
is one of the best records ever made, no matter what genre.

I haven’t read the replies to this thread yet, but I bet I can guess what some of them consist of -

1 - “Rap bad I don’t like rap is bad more like cRAP, get it!!!!”

2 - “Who?” (which at this point in Kendrick’s incredible career is like saying you don’t know who Biggie or 2pac is)

3 - “I don’t watch the halftime show”

4 - “They should have [some band from the 70’s or 80s] do the halftime show”

5 - “Modern music sucks!!! Modern everything sucks!!!”

What is “clueless” is this post.

Kendrick Lamar is considered one of the best and most creative, influential artists and lyricists in the world.

His 2nd and 3rd records are widely regarded as some of the best records ever made, no matter what genre. People of all ages like Kendrick. His storytelling is unparalleled, and his music is experimental, jazzy, funky, catchy and interesting.

He won a freaking Pulitzer Prize in for his 4th record.

He has been nominated for album of the year at the Grammys 4 times now.

He appeals to anyone of any age who likes creative lyricism and masterfully made music.
