Kenneth Murray comments about joining the Cowboys

I love the dart throw. Didn't give up much for him in the big scheme of things, especially when he could start. He might be better than anyone we had starting for us last year not named Kendricks. When Overshown was healthy, he was developing into our best. Luafao popped at times. But now we have Sanborn and Murray. The room looks slightly better.
The problem that we have is we may be relying on these players when they may not be better than what we had. That's a recipe for failure. I think you trade for a Murray when you have someone in front of him for him to beat out for a job, not when you can't afford for the trade to fail. We need both Sanborn and Murray to not only play but play well (or we need to draft someone to do it) or we've taken a step backward.

I like both moves in a vacuum, but not as much when we don't have starters ahead of them. I mean, I'd love for Sanborn and Murray to step in and be upgrades to what we had last year, but that doesn't seem too likely. Sanborn is a solid thumper who can be exposed in coverage and Murray is a physical specimen who has poor instincts. Maybe scheme can overcome those things, but essentially we have to work around those weaknesses, or hope they can fix them, because we don't have better options.

Like I said, no problem with the moves for depth and competition, they just don't have anyone who is starting material to compete against. Our best linebacker is sidelined until who knows when and we're hoping Liufau progresses. Again, we can draft to improve the positions, but if we don't take an LB in the first two rounds our chances of getting a starter-quality one are not high.

“I was an underachieving overpaid LB who had done nothing to remotely justify my draft status and for sure thought i would be released. The only GM stupid enough to trade for me was away on his yacht, so i had little hope but i prayed and prayed and was still totally shocked to find out the moron actually traded for me”
Guy says all the right things before when he joined the team. Zoners hating immediately.

Oh 100% agreed. His cap hit is scary to me

I hate this team and everything about them. I will turn every positive into a negative anyway I can.

We owe him 6 million
You think that’s nothing?
We could not get a better LB for 6 million?

Cast aspersion?

You’re the one doing that.

doG damn what a baltherer.

I am already in love with him. And i think he fits our new coaching staff like a glove.

Great evaluation of character from our FO. They are surely looking for the right chemistry to build a much needed new culture around here.
I think those here that are skeptical of Murray might be pleasantly surprised. The guy isn't Jaylon Smith for gosh sakes. Let's stop pretending he is. The guy can play. Yes he's flawed but still young, and has the tools, the starts, experience and loves the game. He's a good teammate. Great lockerroom guy by all accounts. I think we got better there.

"I've always loved the _INSERT TEAM NAME HERE_. I grew up a _INSERT TEAM NAME HERE_ fan.
My whole family are _INSERT TEAM NAME HERE_ fans. So this is definitely a dream for me playing here."
So you found my resume template.
I'm changing my passwords.

Murray was in grade school during the Campo and Parcells years, jr. high during the Wade Phillips years, high school and college during the Garrett years.

If he and his family are all Cowboys fans then he is obviously from Texas and obviously influenced by family members that remember when the Cowboys used to be relevant.

Bless the hearts of football fans whose experiences with championships are limited to the stories of older relatives.

Sadly, in today's NFL, it's chump change. The landscape of the NFL market says this was a low end deal. Not the cheapest but still a bargain. I know it's crazy money to all of us on the zone. The way salaries are going sky high reminds me of a some sort of Jetsons style futuristic scenario we are in. Or like the movie Idiocracy. Hard to relate to players when they make tycoon money to play a part time kids game. There's a palpable disconnect with the fans as a result many times. Sorry for veering off course a bit btw lol...
