I know. Defense is horrific. I know. Not another TE. But this is starting to grow on me a bit. Let’s face it we have one of the worst TE rooms in the league. I fear Ferg has already reached his ceiling and we all know Schoon is a giant bust.

This dude ran 4.39 at the combine. We’ve never had that kind of speed at TE. You add that to the offense and they are absolutely going to shred.

Just food for thought. Maybe we zig when everyone thinks we are zagging.

Yes. I know.

Dude is a truck. My bet is he goes to Chiefs.

If they trade down from 12 I'd still consider it at 20.

But only if they're not going to try to run the ball. He doesn't have much utility on this offense unless they're trying to throw it 50 times a game.

Always take bpa regardless of need. You can trade a future star for two first round picks just like we did with Micah. It doesn't matter which side of the ball... and last year we should of taken Tyler...........Warren.
i'm racking my brain to think of the best trade return on a TE ever, and i've got nothing.

Nope, they need to hit on 2 defensive players with their 1st 2 picks.

The thing with those "chess piece" TEs is that you need to actually have a plan on how to use them.

Last year, we saw Loveland and Warren both go high to playcallers with a plan for them, and they did both some bonkers stuff. Loveland in particular was just a monster by the end of the season. But not every offense has crazy designs for their TEs. Some playcallers just want a blocking-and-flats guy so they can run a bunch or funnel the ball to their WRs.

Schotty seems like he wants a blocking-and-flats guy. I don't think he's ever featured a TE in like 20 years of calling plays. This is also why I think the team values Jake Ferguson even though his legs are completely dead. As long as we have Dak, CeeDee and Pickens, the gameplan will be focused on our wideouts.

Sadiq is a tantalizing chess piece, but a bad traditional in-line TE. I just don't see him as a fit here.

We need defense but if an offensive player is there that is definitely a better talent I think you take him. Get the best players you can get instead of reaching for need. Not specifically talking about this TE because I have not really seen him play and I’m not a scout.

Evan Ingram 4.42 fourty... very mid at best. pass. I would be livid if they took another tight end with an early pick.

Look at the production from the TE position last season and then compare it to when Schottenheimer was the offensive coordinator with the Seahawks, Rams and Jets and you'll discover he doesn't utilize the position for much more than a glorified check down.
What you saw is what you will get!
